Now it's no longer news the kind of ill fate the Nigeria economy is passing through. As it stands some of us are only going by as if nothing is happening because we are fortunate to be earning in Crypto and not in Naira. In fact the economy of Nigeria is something that most people can't even talk about, they literally loose their appetite once it's mentioned.
But despite all of these, some of us are fortunate enough to keep pushing and seeking for ways out of this dying economy. There are so many things going on today in my country that one can talk about all day but then let's focus on some trending news, hehe.
I think one of the trending news which is quite interesting that's happening in my country or about to happen, is that one of the prominent business tycoon in my country is already on a deal to buy a huge amount of crude oil from the United States of America with the plans to start using it to produce every kind of petroleum products, as you can find in our today's vanguard.
Even though this sounds a bit sad due to the fact that now we are importing what we first once exported to different places around the world, it is still better than not doing anything. As most of us already know, Nigeria was one of the major countries that exported crude oil around the world but now sadly we are the ones buying.
This act alone proves to us how poorly we've managed what we were blessed with. As at today, since the subsidy on PMS was removed, the price of petrol has never been the same and the worst part is it varies depending on your location even within the country. Sadly our President cares less about what we are going through because he seems to be enjoying the who charade (I wish to be wrong about it).
Well, this is a good lesson to us as Nigerians, we have to learn it the hard way since we have failed to learn it the easy way that has always been readily available to us. We keep clamoring for change but then it seems like from the head to the tail, no one is ready for the change so now we still have to experience that change but in a really harsh way.
According to the vanguard for today, Dangote is into a deal of purchasing over $2bn Worth of crude oil and use it to make things a lot easier for his fellow citizens (hopefully this will happen). Like, this is the first time in the history of Nigeria that the Dangote refinery or even others is importing petroleum, they've always made purchase within the State. He is a businessman so this is over 95% business (I might be wrong) and 5% helping out, hehe (I might be wrong too).
Importing that large volume of crude oil is definitely going to be an hassle but I guess he and his shareholders or business associates must have thought this through and as the news said, if this deal is finally done, the Dangote refinery will immediately kick into action and start production. As it says, their goal is to help alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians and of course also to make profit.
Now it seems like Nigerians are getting wiser but that can only be proved true when we all stand up to fight for us. Unfortunately, the government are doing little or nothing about this and you don't want to even imagine the increase in crime rate due to the increase in the price of PMS. Even as I have my doubts, I hope they go away as I hope that God will use Mr Dangote to start a great change in our country Nigeria.
And I also hope that more wealthy business men in the country also look for ways to help us out even as I pray that we the citizens stand and fight against corruption. It's definitely no child's play but I know that someday things will fall in place for our beloved country Nigeria. Let's keep being hopeful and also keep playing our parts in our own little way.
Big thank you to for this beautiful and thoughtful postingspree challenge with today's topic on "TRENDING NEWS IN YOUR COUNTRY". It was a huge learning process for me and I hope it was for others as well.
