So, October was over in a flash. I honestly don’t know where the months are going to, and why exactly they’re flying past, but I believe that it’s a good thing. I’m already happy for the month of November. I’m happy for all the joy I’m most certain it’s bringing. October was a good month, by many counts. So, I know November will be better. I’m also curious to see how December is going to shape itself up to be. Trying not to be too excited, but I can't help it, lol.
So, to begin this month, we were asked a question: If we could invent a holiday that everyone had to celebrate, what would it be and how would it be celebrated?
And I think this is a very ingenious question for a lot of reasons. But the first thing that came to mind as soon as I thought about it was Self-care Day. I know, it’s something we’ve all heard about a dozen times. But the truth is that, most of us still find it hard to incorporate that into our lives.
We’re so caught up with work, and trying to make a living. And even trying to survive and exist so bad, that we just forget to take care of ourselves. I say forget, because no one wants to completely neglect themselves. We just don’t remember to treat ourselves the very best way possible.
And that is what would form the basis of this holiday. A single day that is dedicated to people treating themselves like the Kings and Queens they are. I was thinking of making it three days, but that’s a stretch for a lot of people. But wait, what if it could actually be three days? I mean, I’ve got to put into consideration that this is just three days in 365 days. Surely people can spare that for the betterment of themselves, can’t they?
Essentially, this is how it’ll go. Because we all have diverse ways we like to unwind and take care of ourselves. So we’re bringing all of that to the table. You must do something nice for yourself in these three days. Whatever it is that would bring you happiness, or would help you relax is welcome. The corporate workers can leave their job for a bit, but the private individuals and entrepreneurs may still work. Because after all, if your ideal form of self-care is a visit to the nail tech, or the café, or even the library, people have got to be there to take care of you, right?
So, everyone is jolly in these three days. Doing whatever they want. And then in the evenings of those three days, there are fairs at strategic points in the cities and villages for everyone. There would be stalls that cater to different needs. Spas, gaming shops, beauty/cosmetic get-up, a little book place for the bibliophiles. Basically anything at all that is ideal for your self care, and is within legal grounds, would be available for you.
I know that there are some people whose self-care revolves around being indoors and sleeping all the aches away. That’s why we have three days. Be indoors all of this three days. Or be indoors and then outdoors, whatever you need. The point is just to treat yourself right. And be happy the best way you know how to.
Like every other holiday in the world, not everyone celebrates it. And not everyone would be too keen on it, but it’s a genuine hope that people would take advantage of this holiday, since this is one that is all about them and their happiness. What a lovely time that would be!
Okay, so I’ve stopped reeling from the excitement of a hypothetical holiday, and now we’re back to business. It’s #hpud and I’m happy that I get to honour this day like always. I’ve not been too consistent with my posting, but I’ve been giving it my best and trying to fit my now incredibly busy schedule around it, and it has been amazing so far. And I’ve got to give myself a pat on the back for making it this far.
I’m on the road to 6k HP, and I think I’ll get there in about a week or so. But to aid myself reach that goal. I’ll be powering up 31 HP, bringing me to 5,900 HP. To greater wins by the end of the year. Let’s see how that goes. Happy New Month, everyone! Don’t forget to treat yourself right every chance you get.
