I think in the past I've written about the what I find stupid that women wear, so for this week's prompt writing on it again might seem like I'm spinning so I'll just go to my gender. The Men and the new trend amongst us Ifind utterly stupid.
And so I'll be speaking on the trend of men who paint their nails.
Men paint their fingernails? If you just asked that question then probably you're just getting to know them.
To be honest, I think it's completely dumb. Honestly again, I'm at a loss to understand why any full fledged man would want to sit down, take a paint brush and unscrew a nail polish and indulge in such a practice. Seriously, It does not make sense to me.
Whenever I see men with painted fingernails I can't help but just shake my head in disbelief. Are they imitating ladies or seeking attention? It's utterly stupid, in my opinion, for a man to paint his nails like a lady. I don't know of you all but it contradicts what I believe a man should do.
Makes me ponder on the days men complained that the ladies are taking over our fashion trends, so it's this trend ongst the men a payback? Because I think men and women already have their distinct roles and expectations in society. I believe there are some hobbies and actions that reflect what we believe as a man. But painting nails certainly does not meet the bill for me. It's difficult for me to take it seriously.
As a man and you think there's nothing wrong with it. Then why not just complete it by fixing some artificial nails too, then paint it like you want.
From what I believe, a man's hands are meant to be kept busy at all times with work and providing for the family and a busy hand definitely should be a dirty hand (figuratively). So as a man let me ask, what or who are you beautifying your fingernails for?
I might get attacked a bit by my perception but hey!, I'm just working with the prompt. And this is the trend I find stupid. You might claim that it is a form of self-expression and uniqueness. You might argue that men have the right to express themselves in whichever way they see fit. You might argue that everyone has the right to make their own decisions. No wahala, but I can't help but think that this trend is ridiculous. And from my viewpoint, It's not about creativity to me; it's just plain stupidity. A man should engage in more substantial activities than painting his nails like a woman.
What is the aim of men painting their nails in the first place? Because on several occasions I've seen some of my gender laugh and frown at it. I've seen some of my gender, gnaw at it. So what is the aim in the first place?
Men should prioritize items that will actually improve their lives. We should prioritize important undertakings rather than getting caught up in silly trends that will only make us look foolish.
So for me that trend has always looked stupid to me, I believe it lacks any semblance of common logic, simple logic. Let us concentrate on what genuinely matters rather than getting caught up in trends that will only make others laugh at us.
Maybe society standards change, maybe personal preferences should be accepted within fair limits. But I know for years to come I'll still find it stupid.
