Yesterday was my friend’s birthday celebration, and today was the wedding I talked about earlier. Honestly, this weekend has been full of celebrations for me. Lagos weekends can be like that sometimes. Once there is an event, the whole place just feels lively.
I woke up this morning still thinking about the plans for the wedding. The good thing was that I already had my outfit ready because the dress code was white, the same color I wore for the birthday yesterday. That actually made things easier for me. No stress about what to wear or last minute rushing around.
After getting ready, I headed out for the wedding venue. Lagos traffic can always surprise you, so I made sure I left early enough. Anyone who lives here knows how unpredictable moving around can be, especially on a Saturday when many events are happening at the same time. When I got there, the place was already filling up. People come dressed nicely, friends are laughing, family members are busy moving around, and the whole place just feels alive.
The couple looked really happy, and that’s always the best part of any wedding. You could see it clearly on their faces. Moments like that remind you that weddings are more than just the music and celebration. It’s really about two people deciding to start a life together.
Of course, the celebration part was also very enjoyable. There was good music, people dancing, and the usual Lagos wedding atmosphere. At some point I just stood there looking around and appreciating the moment. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood.
One thing I also noticed was how nice it felt wearing white again today. Like I mentioned before, it’s my favorite color, and it just gives a simple but clean look. The food was good, the music kept playing, and people were really enjoying themselves. Some people stayed mostly at their tables while others went straight to the dance floor. That’s the normal Lagos wedding style.
For me, it was a nice way to spend a Saturday. After the birthday celebration yesterday and this wedding today, the whole weekend has felt like one long celebration. Now that everything is done, I’m just relaxing and thinking about how the day went. Weekends like this don’t happen all the time, but when they do, they leave you with good memories.
Lagos definitely knows how to make weekend.
