Hello, everyone.
designed on canva.
Welcome to my blog. No doubt it's considered an abomination in Nigeria to get a girl pregnant out of wedlock; the shame and disgrace you will face are out of this world, which is why so many people decide to terminate an innocent soul by going in for an abortion just to escape the shame that comes with it.
No child was given birth to by mistake, whether out of wedlock or not. It was all allowed by God and everyone given birth to has a gift and purpose to fulfil, terminating a pregnancy means terminating a gift.
Whether to become an unprepared dad or go in for an abortion is actually a tough question to answer: which do I go for? Bringing a child into this world requires a lot of preparation; it is not easy to actually care for a child, but in this case, I'd rather keep the child than go in for an abortion. An abortion is a no-no.
Why Keep The Child?
Going in for an abortion might save you the shame and disgrace, but how about the guilt of knowing that you terminated a soul with a gift? Imagine your conscience judging you for the rest of your life and reminding you that you have blood on your hands. I would not want to suffer that, so instead I'd keep the child. The shame and disgrace will last a while; people will talk for sometime, and later on, the whole matter dies off like it never happened, but terminating the pregnancy hunts you till eternity.
endangering the life of the lady involved. As a man, I am on the safer side, but how about the lady? What if things go wrong in the process? I have seen people who tried abortion and now have medical complications as they can no longer conceive, and even some who died in the process. If things go wrong, then I put myself in even bigger trouble. If she dies in the process, then the family will come for me, but keeping the child means they can be mad for some time and find a way to forgive.
- How about the finances? Raising a child actually requires a lot of money for food, clothing, and shelter, but at any point, if I realize I cannot cope with the responsibilities of being a good dad, I might give the child up for adoption. It might hurt to do so, but it's better than terminating a gift or talent instead of giving it a chance to grow.
Lessons are learned from situations like this; don't let them hold you down. You still have a life to live after the dilemma; it might cause one to derail, but it does not stop one from achieving their dreams as you can get yourself back on track.
