I saw myself dieing slightly, i thought I was going die because I could see how my life flashed before my eyes, and it's seems there was no hope for me, not until someone came into my life and gave me a source of hope
I'm a young entrepreneur, who's trying to make ends meet with the little way i can. During the covid 19, everything was just blank for me, there was no good source of income.
Then i decided to venture into importation, i started creating preorder groups and advertising my business online.
At first it was slow, it wasn't easy to get customers to trust me with their money since I was a newbie in the business.
Fast forward to 2022, when my business started growing well, I said I haven't customer I'm making good profits from my importation business, got a pointing people on how to import from other countries.
My business was growing very smoothly, I started having a lot of others both in and out of the state. One of the main countries i import from is China. China currency is yuan also known as RMB.
When business was moving fine
As a Nigerian importer, before I import my goods, I would have to change my naira to RMB, or sometimes I buy RMB instead of changing my naira.
Business was going so well, not until last year things began crashing down. Late last year, I met a lady who exchanges and sells RMB, although I've bought RMB from her a couple of times. But there was a certain time Dollar rate was affecting RMB, then I decided to buy RMB in a large quantity, as at the time I booked for this RMB it was sold for 175 naira per RMB.
Total RMB i booked was almost 2 million naira, and the money I use in booking this RMB was some customers money and some of my money. I did this because, RMB rates was just increasing by the day .
Moving on to December 2023, the lady that was supposed to send the RMB to my alipay account, was no longer picking my calls and she was not even replying my text anymore, I panicked to the extent that I couldn't sleep at night.
At a point in my life when I was depressed 😞
I would use different numbers to call her and whenever she picks up and she hears my voice, she would drop the call.
I was so scared, because customers money were involved, 80% of the 2 million naira was for my customers and 20% was just mine.
Because the money was too much for me to let go of, I decided to take the matter to the next level, but before that I contacted her several times, I even find different ways to reach her before I take the legal steps.
Due to the fact she didn't respond to any of my messages, I decided to go to the police station to report the case, I wrote my statements and the police took legal actions.
So to cut the long story short, we took the matter to court to settle it, after hearing the both side of our stories, the court found her guilty and she was asked to pay back my money in full.
Meanwhile, this lady scammed someone else, with the same strategy should use in scamming me, the lady she's scammed, I don't even know how she got my number, but we just started talking, and honestly I tried my very best to be polite with her, we were getting along and you will also following the case together, she also presented her case in the court, her money wasn't much it was around 200,000 .
She collected her money complete before me, this other lady that scammed me, was being my money bit by bit.
The total of 2 million naira, she has paid 1.5 million naira, it was remaining 500k. Some people were asking me to forget about the 500k and move on, as for me I will not forget about that money, I must collect every dime.
So, me and this other lady she's scammed became very close friends, we started chatting frequently and she's always asking me how's the case going and if she has paid me all my money, so this new lady wanted to move into her new house, and she needed new gadgets, she bought every single household item from me, and the thing she bought was almost 1.5 million naira.
She was like a compensation to me from God, she put a smile on my face after a very long time of sadness, because at that point in my life I was so depressed, I literally cried every single night, because the pressure from my customers were so high on me, everybody was just demanding for the item that the ordered.
But this lady, wiped away my tears, with the items she bought. She was a blessing in disguised, I have never gotten such an order, from just one customer.
MORAL LESSON
Always be polite with the people you come across with, always be nice to people despite the ups and downs of life.
Never transfer your aggressions on somebody else, if I was not nice to her at first, she wouldn't have bought the thing she bought from me, she even went as far as giving me connections with other higher lawyers that will help me judge the case. Being polite was what helped me in this .
You are there no matter whatever your facing or whatever you're going through, wherever you meet people always keep a good relationship with people and be nice.
