Happy new year to you all, I am saying this because it's my first post here in this community this year.
I was busy with the Christmas and New Year celebrations so I couldn't concentrate on writing but now I am fully back online since the holidays are gone and the school is resuming soon.
I surely have some expenses in my life that I can do without like every other person but still do it, not because the thing is very important but because I just find myself doing it for no reason.
As a lady, there are lots of things we can actually do without but because we feel like it's a normal thing to do for a lady we just go back into it even without gaining anything at the end of it.
I have many things I could do without but I will be sharing just a few of them for the prompt, Make-up is one of the things I can do without but the fact that I am used to it wouldn't let me go out without having it on me.
I remember some years back when I went to Lagos to greet my sisters, one of them asked, "Can't you do without applying makeup one day?".
I answered her, "I am used to it". So since that day, my sisters have known me to be a make-up freak even though I won't die if I don't apply it and it is not as if my look is that bad. But I just can't.
Long hair is another thing I found myself spending so much on when I can literally braid a normal length and be good. Ever since I became an adult, I found long braid attractive and whenever I do it, I feel more elegant and the longer the hair the more it costs which makes me spend extra cash than the usual amount I was supposed to spend.
Some months ago a lady still asked me why I love long braids at the salon where I always make my hair, she said she had been noticing me for some time.
Whenever I go out without makeup or getting my hair done I used to feel incomplete, I do feel like I am not beautiful meanwhile I do get a lot of beautiful compliments whenever I go out without makeup and with my natural hair.
One thing about those things is that once someone is used to it, no matter how hard the person tries to overlook it, she will still find herself doing it. And I am one of those who find it fun but I wouldn't die if I don't do them.
Sometimes I made up my mind to do away with make-up for the whole week but when it was on Sunday I applied the make-up and I was in the church already when I remembered that I promised not to makeup and the funniest part is that I don't get much compliment with my makeup on but my natural look gives me more.
