In business, the first set of people that will patronise you are your close friends or maybe your family members. They are the people that will easily trust you because they have been with you, and from there they can recommend you, and other sets of people will patronize you too.
I love simplicity from the sellers. When I say simplicity, I mean that as a seller you need to tell me the truth about your services or your product; do not try to exaggerate them and try to make people fall for it. If your product does not have durability, then just open up to me and make sure that the price is not too high. Everyone knows that you need to survive, so your audience will understand that, so do not try to exaggerate while talking about your product; just stay simple.
I remember that one of my friends started her catering business and wanted people to buy from her. At that time, she was learning how to bake, and she was not really good at that she was going to be good. One day, she brought her first set of pastries to my house, and when I came to the house, she gave them to me and told me to eat them and tell her what I thought about it. Those pies were tasting okay, so I told her to use her strategies with other of her friends.
So for two to three weeks, she was baking a small amount of pastries and giving it out to her close friends to taste, then she would get half of the amount from them. By that time she was still learning how to bake so she did not really need profit, I told her to just go for trust and her capital.
Before it was one month, she started baking very well and when she was good, she started selling them at the normal price. Before this time people knew her already, thinking they would come and buy those pastries at the price they got it before, they came around and saw that she packaged them well and the tast was better, so they did not agree with the price, they knew that it was better than before.
If you want to be known in your business, make sure you present your business in a very simple way, but you must be sure that you are good at it. So people will know that you can do it, and they will in turn patronize you.
Those people who sold her cannot forget her because she did not go into their pocket first, but she got to their hearts first, and that made it very possible for them to patronize her.
