Hello everyone hope you are doing very well today and that your day is going very too.
Today leadership has changed from how it was to the way it is supposed to be in the modern world.
It is very pertinent to know or learn how to be a leader without falling behind in one thing or the other.
Leadership is something we do formally or informally, some people assume the position of leadership because they were the only person that was available at that moment.
This happens when the person involved is ready and equipped to lead.
To do it formally, one needs to learn it informally.
Some people are born leaders while some are made leaders through processes that are always not smooth.
The process of becoming a leader is always not easy, because leading people can be very tough.
I assumed some leadership positions sometimes because I was the only available person at that moment and some of the times I assumed the position because of merit.
I prefer leadership by merit and not leadership by availability.
When I was growing up, I used to stand in for my mom whenever she was not around, I would be the person to look after my younger siblings.
Waning up every morning to prepare their meal, and making sure that they were okay I saw that as the process of leadership because that helped me later in life as I became a leader in the tertiary institution, I played the role of a listener, organizer, connector, etc.
All of these were possible because I always stood up for my mom whenever. she was not around.
The first time I led in my school, I was not afraid because I knew how to connect with everyone in my group. Everyone in the group had a huge confidence in me, they never did anything without letting me know, and they even went as far as letting me get involved in their stuff too.
I made everyone become one family, whenever we had a problem, we would solve it amicably.
I had the confidence that I could lead the group and because of the confidence I had, people also gave me their confidence too.
My first leadership position was not hard until I assumed a higher position in the school where I needed to lead more people than before.
It appeared as if I had never led before but I scaled through at some points because I used some new techniques.
Some techniques are used in leadership, I wanted to use the old techniques which did not work for me until I changed the technique.
The techniques I used the first time were:
Horizontal Leadership
In this technique I made everyone lead with me, I created groups inside my group that would be reporting to me so as not to do everything in the group alone. With that, I was able to look into the subgroups very well.
Vertical Leadership
This time I led with them not letting them report to me because I noticed that they were lacking behind in terms of human relations.
So I taught them how to rapport with people and still make them do what they were supposed to do.
This would not have been possible if I had not learned it as a young girl amid my siblings.
I also used the motivation skill to compel everyone to be up and doing.
