Hi everyone!!!
No doubt we all have made poor financial decisions at one point in our lives not excluding myself I've made several poor financial decisions that the moment I get home I'll start questioning myself "Why did you buy this, was it that necessary" Permit me to say poor financial decisions are some times inevitable.
I've made several poor financial decisions but I'm gonna share with you the particular one I regretted the most.
Before going to NYSC camp I needed a smartphone, it's not like I didn't have a phone I had one but it wasn't as smart as I wanted so told myself I was gonna get a phone before going cause what's the essence of NYSC without taking good pictures of every moment, they say "pictures are memories".
I have a friend who deals in phones and other accessories, the money I had then couldn't get a brand-new phone so I decided to go for UK-used phones since it might be cheaper. So I called him and told him the amount of cash I had to get the phone and the period I'd be needing it, he assured me I can be able to get a good phone for that amount and I was thrilled about it.
The following day I went to the bank to activate my account so I could make the transfer of the money to him, after the activation I processed the transfer then he called me that he had received the money. Later in the evening, he called me again that the phone he had in mind to sell to me he had sold to somebody else he insisted I hold on for a while he'd order a nicer one for me. Then a while turned into a week with no phone, and a week turned into two weeks that was when he called me that my almighty phone had arrived with low excitement I went to his store to pick it up.
Then I checked the phone it was working perfectly fine, and everything was functioning i joyously went home and showed my elder sister the phone she even called him to appreciate him.
After two months the phone started giving me issues, it didn't fall on the ground it just started misbehaving like that, and the touchpad stopped working I couldn't do anything with the phone. I didn't know if I was to return it to the seller or if I should just leave it, these thoughts kept on flowing in my head, didn't know if he intentionally sold a bad phone to me because we are friends, this is one thing I purchased that I regretted the most.
Lessons learned
I should have saved up enough money to purchase a brand-new phone, cause I know the brand-new wouldn't give me an early sign of problems, and it would have lasted longer than the one I purchased, my intentions of going to NYSC camp with a smartphone was shattered even my picture dream demolished.
