There are people gluing themselves to roads to protest the use of oil.
There are people drinking out of one time use plastic cups, drinking through a paper straw.
There are people paying 10¢ a bag, because they forgot their "re-usable" bags in the car.
There are people pushing for 100% EVs by 2030.
All of this is complete lunacy.
None of this helps.
In fact, all of this is a result of propaganda and advertising.
People have gone insane. No, really.
WE have to stop using oil NOW!!!!
Little do these people know how much oil (and coal) we use to keep our civilization going.
These people go on and on about saving the environment, while actively engaging in consumerism, the most destructive thing for the environment. I have seen very few "environmentalists" actually do anything to actually lower the amount of pollution they cause.
They demand more solar panels and windmills, although these rarely pay for themselves. They are a net loss of oil.
You need to put solar panels in places with long, cloudless days. Like the SW of America. Then the panels break even just before their lifespan is up. Anywhere else, and the oil used to make the solar panels would have just been better spent on making electricity.
To really stop using oil, we need to start using alternatives that really pay for themselves. Like Real Solar, Geothermal, Wave Energy, Magnet motors. But you will rarely hear about this stuff, except like, the guy that made a car that runs on water,… was found dead.
Soon we are going to have blood smears on freeways. One side has no alternative but to drive (to work, to store, to home) and the other side is so brainwashed that they think we have to stop oil use, and we can do this by making other people's lives miserable. These two sides will not budge, they pretty much can't. So soon, we will see them just driven over.
Paper straws and Reusable Bags
Nothing is stupider than paper straws and the cheap plastic-material reusable bags. Both are a horrible waste of energy. Waste more energy, that will help the environment.
A one use plastic straw is one of the best uses of plastic. It takes in incredibly small amount of plastic, and a tiny amount of energy to make. Then you have a clean, just strong enough, non dissolving drinking utensil.
On the other hand, the paper straw uses a lot of energy and smelly chemicals to make the paper, then wax and roll up the paper, to make something that performs poorly. If not enough wax, it dissolves while you use it. A disgusting sensation. And it is not recyclable as paper.
So, for more energy, you get a worse product. Yep, really helping out the environment there.
When this could easily be solved by building high temperature, multiple burn, trash incinerators coupled with power generation. Then, all that oil that was turned into plastic will create almost the same BTUs as just burning the oil in the first place. But, just try to get these things into production at dumps, and you will have all the old money after you.
The more expensive plastic bags just waste more plastic. You have to use the "reusable" plastic bags over 100 times to break even on plastic consumption. 100 times. Most people do not use them that many times. And really, they break long before then.
This entire "reusable" plastic bag thing was just a way to make stores more money. Now they can sell a 0.1¢ item for 10¢ making a huge profit.
Hidden profit motives, not helping the environment, but people are told it is helping the environment, and that is all the matters, right?
EV cars, the biggest swindle
The battery powered electric vehicle is the worst thing for the environment outside of actually polluting for polluting's sake.
The concept works ok for around town, slow, lots of starting/stopping driving.
But once you start putting enough battery to get to freeway speeds, the electric vehicle fails to be more efficient.
For freeway driving, the EV and ICE are about the same efficiency. Some comparisons say that EV is 10% better, some say it is 10% worse with all the line losses (getting the electricity to the battery). But, it is always worse because you are adding a big heavy battery that the car has to drag around everywhere it goes.
Further, the creation of the battery is an environmental disaster. Making more pollution than the ICE car does in its life.
So, again we have an area where the people who are "saving the environment" are actually causing more harm. It is just tragic that people do not want to have their bubble burst. The virtue signalling of "saving the environment" is more important than actually saving the environment.
All of this came about my marketing and propaganda.
It was marketing that got people to use 1 time use plastic things, and then throw them away. Your grandmas saved and reused all these plastic containers. The plastics people couldn't stand for this, so they spent a lot of money convincing people it was ok to throw away the plastic containers.
The EV, paper straws, (cheap plastic) reusable bags are all marketing. Just like plastic recycling.
Ever see a big rig with a flat bed stacked high with smashed plastic bottles? Well, if we could turn those magically into petrol, it wouldn't be enough to get the rig to where it needs to go. We are using more oil, again, to look like we are saving the environment.
Fortunately, huge changes are coming. Ones that will see people walk away from the consumerist lifestyle. Of course, this will probably mean the complete destruction of our economy. We will be much more environmentally concious in the future. And really, conscious, and not fake "want to save the planet".
The people that are virtue signalling they are "saving the planet" are loathe to hear any real information that says they are not helping the planet. And we have a lot of people paying a lot of money to advertise the wrongness.
