I subscribe to a few MSM feeds not because I actually want any of the information / propaganda that they provide, but because I want to have a look at the continued insanity that they peddle and watch as it becomes increasingly evident that they aren't really even trying to be actual journalists anymore.

Today's egregious error brought to you by The Post Millennial
The political stories are predictable of course: If the outlet is liberal then everything that Trump does is bad and for the most part all other conservatives are also. If the outlet is conservative then it is the opposite. Both sides spend a lot of time writing articles about how the article the other side wrote is full of errors and is misleading while they simultaneously release their own misleading article filled with errors that is right next to it.
But every now and then something sneaks through that really shouldn't because even the simplistic editor that I am using right now would detect it. The fact that it made it to publication despite this, simply shows that they really aren't even trying to be genuine anymore.
The article itself wasn't that bad because initially I felt as though "finally, something not political!" but then I took a step back and realized that this is a carefully selected story that actually is political it's just disguised as not being.
This story was selected for a very simple reason: So that the current debate about letting people out of prison early can have a white person in the pack as well and the lefties can't accuse the politicians of racism
For me I don't listen when politicians talk about racism anymore because they overplayed that hand a very long time ago.
I am sure you can see the error in the headline even though you are not an editor. It really isn't that big of a deal because any sane person knows that the last word in the headline is meant to be "bracelet" but that isn't really the point.
The point is that this is an error that if these article were being reviewed by ANYONE before they go live that it would be detected. They could have a 4th grader in charge of the editing process and they would have detected that.
I don't really expect excellence from any publication these days but something this obvious making its way through? IF that can happen how concerned do you think this operations are about making sure their sources are correct or that they have in fact quoted real statistics. They don't check and they don't care.
Outside of very rare publications such as The Economist and the occasional article from Christian Science Monitor I don't believe there are any real news sources out there. Every sort of news is a propaganda outlet that does the bidding of a particular political party or ideology... and I hope that the people out there are smart enough to have that figured out by now.
I always think back to my friend who was woefully drawn in by some sort of sensationalized news "flavor of the week" and then one day when I was hanging out with her I noticed she was getting notifications from CNN, which is where she almost exclusively got her news from. I don't think we are in danger of that happening with most of the people that post and read around on here, but if you are still looking at main stream media, you really need to stop or at the minimum go to a site that presents all sides of the discussion such as allsides.com before they end up getting compromised as well.
