I like Elon Musk as much as the next guy but I would say that my interest in him is a normal amount. There are some people out there that feel a lot more strongly about him though, to the point where they made a rather large statue of the guy with the body of a goat and he is riding on a rocket.
It's not some piece of shit statue either and it reportedly cost $600,000 to make. The people who paid to build it are involved in their own cryptocurrency called Elon Goat Token and I think it is pretty obvious why they would choose a name like this. When Musk even mentions a coin it blows up. I know quite a few people that benefitted greatly from this when Dogecoin rocketed in value a while ago and if Elon even acknowledged that this coin that is named after him existed, you would probably see a similar jump in value.
So what do you think of this thing? I guess it is pretty cool but also seems quite weird. Either way I think the motivation to build it was simply to draw attention to their token and not necessarily because they really really really admire Musk. It's a lot of money to spend on a gag, that's for sure.
The mobile statue currently resides in Austin, Texas.
