Whether Donald Trump was right or wrong, CNN has lost some reasonable number its viewers in just few years. Just last year CNN lost about 74% of their audience due to their inabilities to present credible news. All of this didn't border her President who continuously defended the organization.

There has been rumors around about a secret affair between Jeff Zucker and Allison Gollust (colleagues in CNN). This has been denied by Zucker, although, there have been some investigations on the issue. Remember with the height of Zucker's position in CNN he's supposed to uphold integrity in all ramifications. If the above quotation is true about Zucker's resignation, then it's too bad for his personality.
Apart from the Zucker scandal, Jeff Zucker's years as CNN President has been full with different scandals from some staff ranging from Jeffrey Toobin being welcomed back following a masturbation scandal to the years-long saga surrounding Chris Cuomo and his involvement in his brother Andrew Cuomo's political operations. It was expected that Zucker shouldn't have lasted longer than this as president of CNN. It's just my opinion. Bringing back Jeffery Toobin eight months after he exposed himself in a zoom video masturbating, was not necessary. The CNN Boss told the public that Toobin is just like any other human who could mess up. Although, his entire career there had not been any scandal. I think that CNN should've been a sort of example to other television stations and new media in terms of upholding moral values.
Jeff Zucker left CNN without any pre-information. Most staffer saw his actions as unfortunate to the organization.
