I have heard many stories about shooting stars while growing up, even in movies as people look up to it and make their wish with the believe that all their wish spoken to it at that moment will surely come to past. Even though I heard about the scientific meaning to it as not a star but a a dust from the space that enter the atmosphere, people still didn't take their mind off the believe that it makes their wishes come true. Believing in it or not, what I see about is is the hope that it gives to people at that moment, the hope that this request of their will surely be answered, the faith that God has finally open the sky to bring in their prayers.
Just as Rainbow that shows up after rainfall is believed by some people as magic. They see it as a sign of Good luck, Christians say it's a sign that hard and difficult days as come to past and good and beautiful days have come. They see it as a sign that God still kept his promises that He is with us and all good things will only come to us.
When something comes or happens rarely, it is just natural for people to believe it is special and they will give meaning to it. Though ,I have never seen a shooting star in real life before ,all I see is just from books. I would say I don not believe it's true it brings wishes come true but I just love the idea that people believed in it to do so, I think it helps in such a way that it will give motivation to people at that time that they shouldn't relent as God has come to take all their wishes and He will surely grant them. Beliefs in something gives us courage to keep on and that's what I admire about the idea.
And who knows? I can still come across a shooting star.
