My Web3 Journey: How It All Began

A few years ago, my friends introduced me to a group where airdrop links are being shared. I farmed a few but didn't see results and there was no proper education on how to go about the whole thing, I got frustrated at a point and I stopped.

Later, we started hearing things about internet fraud. I heard how people are being scammed in the name of crypto and it discouraged me.

I personally began to discourage people from crypto. I believe that anything web3 was a scam and a waste of time. If the person insisted, I would show them evidence of the airdrop I farm, and my trust wallet with tokens that I withdrew but couldn't convert into fiat.

I stopped anything online related to web3 and went for offline jobs full time, unknown to me that web3 is broad and is not only about airdrops.

Sometime around 2021, a friend Hive account@ovey10 started talking to me about Hive, but my interest in online things was weak.

He continued trying to persuade me until I got tired and decided to give in. I didn't even know it was a web3 project until I wrote my introductory post.

I was discouraged when I realized it was a crypto project. I didn't have time to waste again on crypto because I was deceived many times. After spending something on the Hive Blockchain, I discovered it was unique.

I could trade what I earned and I was able to meet with new people and build different skills. And that was how the journey began.

From Hive Blockchain, I began to acquire knowledge about crypto in general. I got to know about other tokens and how to invest in them through the contents of other hivians.

Luckily, I stumbled upon Hive account@dwixer in Dreemport during one of the treasure hunt tasks and the journey took another level from there.

He taught me about exchanges, how to trade Hive on Binance, how to convert it to other tokens, and how to use the web3 option on the exchange.

He also taught me about airdrops properly, and how to benefit from them.

My perception of web3 changed when I started Hive. Web3 is broad and it can change anyone's life. But it requires knowledge.

I don't blame those who don't believe in it because, without proper knowledge, one may just suffer and end up being frustrated.

My advice to anyone who wants to venture into web3 is they are making the right decision but they should pay the price to get the knowledge.
