What is Happiness?
I am currently trying to remember the last time I felt completely happy, but, unfortunately, my thoughts drift into a vast field of negative emotions. It’s as if it is easier to recall pain/hurts than happiness. So, let’s set aside all negativity and explore what my world of happiness looks like. Happiness is a state where you are present yet somehow absent to the distractions around you, filled with genuine calmness, peace, and fulfillment- at least that’s one way I could describe my state of happiness. In my happy moments, I forget everything and focus solely on the source of that happiness; if it’s not present, I repeatedly relive the joyful memories.
Why Buy Happiness?
In a world striving for balance, it’s clear that there will always be good days and bad days. On a bad day, I would definitely resort to purchasing happiness, which brings me to my next point: in what form would this happiness come?
Forms of Happiness
In my world, where happiness can be bought, there are two main forms: monetary and abstract. The monetary form could be likened to stablecoins, while the abstract form - like hugs, conversations, and pictures - resembles altcoins. In this economy, people would thrive knowing that there are plenty of reasons to be happy.
People often find happiness in the most unexpected places or through the simplest items. I believe such a world would flourish. There are happy memories that are particularly dear to us, and for those kinds of happiness, we could offer a storage space where individuals can revisit or relive their cherished moments like a virtual reality.
Is There Ever Enough Happiness?
The answer is that no amount of happiness is ever truly enough. Humans are insatiable beings, always wanting more. In this world of happiness, I would ensure that everyone I bring happiness to never runs out of it because putting a smile on someone’s face is deeply fulfilling. In fact, I would establish a reward system where individuals gain rewards the more they spread happiness.
Happiness is affordable, and we all deserve every bit of happiness available to us.
