There has been a lot of innovation over the years which has revolutionised human life in a very powerful way, but amongst all these Innovations, nothing has been compared and rooted in impact and influence, human behaviour not to talk about the global reach as the smart phone.
Yes, there are other innovation like the refrigerator, but how many people have this at home. We have bra, even not all women wear this, we have aeroplane, not everyone can afford this. But when we talk about the smartphone, Yes, in terms of psychology and social impact, the smartphone impacts our day to day social structure and cognition. In terms of economic and cultural reach, we can say praise the innovation of smartphone for its scalability and all encompassing. In terms of survival and necessity I can also say that the smartphone cannot be left behind on this table.
Innovation for me is not just an iota of invention as the way some people sees it, it is the reverberation and reflection of what we human being needs, our creativity and the timeless pursuing of a brighter and good living. And I will continue to say it anywhere that, out of all the technological inventions of the world, the smartphone is very classy and this is why it stands tall amongst its peers as the most adored innovation of all time. Not just because of how portable it is, its sleek design and interface, limitless apps it can contain, but for how it has reshaped and revisited the human experience.
The smartphone on my hand is more than just a gadget or tool, right from the moment I wake up till the moment I lay on my bed to sleep; it is a my companion, my ally and an accomplice. It it filled up with a lot of memories, contact that connects me with my loves ones who are very far away, gives easy access to knowledge that is onces kept away and locked in the library and it makes my voice more audience across all social media and digital worlds. Take for instance, for a lot of people who live in the unrepresented and marginalized parts of the world, having a smart phone cannot be regarded as a luxury because it it a lifeline for them.
What makes our smartphone more deep and intense is how it contains and compacted with a lot of innovations. It is my calculator, my camera, my book shelf, my kitchen, my television, my map, my wallet, Mr radio, my notebook, my healthcare tacker, my newspaper, my typewriter, my telephone, what again? Name it. All these devices fits in into my pocket and I can easily operate it. It is a supreme evidence that invention is about contraction of intricacy into something that is very simple.
Looking at it both psychologically and emotionally, our manner of relating with people, his we express ourselves, and how we look at the world has greatly been transformed by the use of smartphone. Culture has evolved from the use of handwritten letters to digital text and voice messages. From snail movement door to door mails to direct calls and videos calls. From small scale city corner shops community to international retailers and virtual communities.
Adding to this incredible and adorable innovation, if I have the power to innovate anything, it will be an infinity, universal and sustainable battery that will power our devices limitlessly without harming our planet. Come to think of it, you holding a smartphone where you no longer have to worry about how to charge to looking for an emergency charge with your shackled cords in your hand.
Invention is about meaning and not just about machinery. It is the science and art of making our world more human, livable and more connected. The smart phone is a huge turning point in the modern innovation and it is not a a chapter.
If we as humans are the are to calculate and weigh greatness by the dept and breadth of metamorphosis, the smartphone we carry around will be crowned. Because, we use it to communicate, it serves as our school, work tool, doctor, flashlight, wallet and that is just a life line you are holding.
And even, if we say electricity, not everyone has electricity in there homes. Smart phones still remains the best invention for me because if not a burner phone, you are holding a smart phone. And even, kids right from the age of 2 years upwards are attracted to screens, either listening to music or watch videos.
Above all, the tool of our era is the smartphone.
