Why would anyone believe that friends do not lie, because first before we met them or became friends with them either casually or emotionally they are human beings and we must put that into consideration before concluding that.
The fact that these people hold a certain place in our lives does not mean they are supposed to relegate their characters to the background. I do not entirely believe that there are friends who would be open 100% to tell you everything that is going on in their lives as they tend to hold back one or two things.
While we can say that friends do not lie is based on the fact that they hold back some information from us rather than telling us everything. Hence, we cannot consider that as a lie but an oversight on their side for not telling us certain things.
I remember having a friend back in the university and this one was a pathetic liar, she would always lie for no reason but just to look good in the face of other, we were student and decided to rent a self-contain apartment together because we were asked to vacate the hostel we used to stay before. I didn't want to live alone but needed someone to join hands together and pay the rent. so we collaborated and got a room with toilet and kitchen. But unfortunately this girl just want to show off and be something she's not to other people, claiming that she's single-handedly paid to rent. I got to find out about this from another friend of ours.
So the clause that friends do not lie is not true and as human beings it is normal to not expect 100% honesty from people.
