We all have different opinions, choices and capacities for the things we do. Sometimes, we in the African part of the world see westerners as wasting money on irrelevant things but meanwhile, when you ask or look closely into why they're spending so much on the things that look irrelevant to us, you'll see that those things mean a lot to them.
For example, FIFA recently released the price ticket for the final match of the upcoming FIFA 2026 World Cup. Do you know how much it is? It's a whopping $10,990 and this is not even for a VIP treat. In Nigeria, we can't dare think of spending that amount of money to watch just a match except for those who have excess money. $10,990 in naira is a lot of money.
Now, come to think of a situation where one is to attend an event beneath the ocean during a summer holiday and the price is the same as the ticket for the final World Cup match, would I be interested? My answer is HELL NO!
It's not like I don't find the idea of having a moment beneath the deep ocean interesting, in fact, I would love to see the sharks, dolphins and other aquatic animals swim around while we are settled in the event glass cave just like we see in movies. But as long as the cost for such an event is way too costly, the interest will disappear from my mind at the speed of light. In fact, among the things to do on my bucket list, traveling beneath the sea for the summer holiday is not among them. The idea of traveling to space has been on my mind but even at that, when the price to do that is way too costly, I'll shut down the idea.
