Just as stated in the topic, our spendings did have a way of affecting our finances either in a good or bad way. And as well know, this daily expenses we see as small are the real spendings, cause most times, what we use them for aren't things that are really if much value, most times it's just to satisfy our little cravings and we don't think much of it, but at the end of the day, it all adds up together to break us.
And money they also say has wings, it can either fly away or fly close. Most of the big money we spend are usually or most times for a good cause, investment or something really worth it, unlike the ones we term as small and at the end of the day, we see how #1000 and #500 leaving our accounts can all add up to become something so big that it has drained our account.
One of the things I can say I spend on is data, omo, I oraybdata won't collect cloth from my neck😁. And ome of the reason is because data is costly here and I happen to be someone who rarely put off my data too. Aside from the fact that I blog, write and such, I'm also involved in making frames and customized stuff(mugs, throw pillows) and selling stuffs(clothes, kitchen utensils, shoes...etc) online. So, it requires that I'm online to attend to potential customers. And most of the data I do is weekly, it's easier for me that way and the plan for weekly is bearable, even though I always renew it before the weeks runs out, cause aside from the business side, I also surf the internet and all. And by the time it's month end and I add up how much I've used in data subscription and airtime, I find out that it's not small money at all.
Most times, after a long day, I would just decide to spoil myself with meatpie and coke, or fearless. I wouldn't want to settle for cold purewater, and by the time I get that almost everyday in a month, you see how much it amounts to at the end. Not to talk of transport fare, the random urgent 2ks and various little ones.
There was a day I checked one of my back accounts history, I was amazed at how much has came in and how much has gone out, it was thousands of naira, and while looking through, I couldn't really pinpoint one big/important thing I used the money for. It baffles me to see it. So, I've been reckless with spending before, I wouldn't even budget, track or plan things, I just spend and before the month runs out, I'm broke again. But then, I've improved now and have become more intentional on my spending habit. I plan, budget and think twice before even trying to give myself some small treats.
