Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. Emotional intelligence is one thing I did not really value growing up and did not see the need for, but I have come across people that left me shocked, and I saw how important it is to actually relate and associate with people who are emotionally intelligent. When you encounter those without any form of emotional intelligence, you will understand better. How those who are not emotionally intelligent will react to a situation will always be different from how those with no emotional intelligence will react to the same situation, and that alone will convince you on why you should avoid those who are not emotionally intelligent.
The lack of emotional intelligence is why people say the wrong things at the wrong time and do the wrong things at the wrong time; the lack of emotional intelligence is why some people cannot even read the room and know how to act in the room. I have come across people, and every day I will choose people who are emotionally intelligent over those that are not emotionally intelligent because if you surround yourself with people who lack emotional intelligence, you will see the effect and how they would react to situations that require them to be emotional or show a level of sympathy.
I have a neighbor, and the only reason I am distancing myself from him is because I came to realize that he is not emotionally intelligent; he says the wrong things at the wrong time and the wrong things at the right time too; he does the wrong thing at the wrong time and the wrong thing at the right time. He just doesn't know when to say this or when to say that; sometimes he says this when he is supposed to say that and that when he is supposed to say this.
One time an elderly woman who sells boiled corn (maize) to us came to the apartment as usual. On her way out, I don't know what caused her to slip, and this elderly woman slipped on the staircase. Everyone who heard the sound and how she shouted rushed out and tried to help her back up, and when my neighbor came to the scene, he did not say sorry. All that came out of his mouth was, "If her children want to use her for a ritual, they should wait for her to leave the lodge; he cannot write a statement." He said that to the hearing of everyone, and those who do not know that is his type of person got angry and started shouting at him, but I said nothing because I already expected such from him.
Emotionally unintelligent people don't show sympathy; they lack empathy, and a human being that lacks both will always react wrongly to situations.
