Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. Before we started harnessing the power from the sun, our only alternate source of power down here was the generators, but with the evolution and improvement of technology, we now have multiple sources of power, and we get to choose which one we want, which one we can afford, and which one we are more comfortable with. So many surveys conducted both online and offline have proved that many Nigerians will always choose a generator because they believe it is cheaper; many tend to think running a generator ends at just the purchase price, but they forget that you need to keep buying fuel in order to keep it running.

So many people complain about the installation cost of a solar system in the house and for that reason assume that it is more expensive than having a generator, but then they forget that the cost for solar installation is a one-time thing, with no recurring charges like when it comes to running a generator. After solar installation you can go 5-6 months without spending a penny, but you will still have a constant power supply, but you cannot do that with a generator. For every time you want to run a generator, there must be fuel or gases carried out; else, it cannot run.
Over time having a solar system installed in your house is more cost effective than a generator, a friend of mine argued this the same way many people argue it. We had a generator together, but he upgraded and decided to get solar power for himself. It has been 6 months of using solar power, and just last week he called me to confess that what I said is true. He calculated how much he spent on fuel for 6 months before he got solar power and added it to the cost of the generator, and it was almost the same amount he used to install solar power. Now do the math for one year and even beyond that.
You will realize that after that one-time installation cost for solar power, your expenses for power supply reduce drastically, while if using a generator after your purchase, your expenses for power supply increase. In the long run solar power is better than generators, but the cost of installation makes it look like it is way expensive. It is also noiseless and does not pollute the environment like generators do with both noise and carbon monoxide. With solar power you enjoy power supply with zero pollution.
