Hello friends of Hive and the Sci-fi community,
I want to start by appreciating the admin and moderators of this incredible community. Week after week, they provide us with bloggable and meaningful topics that not only refine our mine and intellects and also encourages us to dig deeper through making research and learning new things. Thank you for your dedication and continued support!
This week’s topic is “The Science of Innovation,”. Innovation has played a vital role in the advancement and growth of the human race and has been the engine behind many global growth or development. From the innovation of light bulbs to automobiles, airplanes, computers, and even mobile phones and many more that are mentioned here. Indeed we can all testify to how far innovation has taken the world too.
But in my entry for this prompt, I want to narrow it down to music innovation, particularly on how innovation has transformed the music industry and also musical instruments for better output. Music has always and will always be a part of human race or history, but what makes today's music so formidable and varied is the innovation behind the tools we use to create it.
Let’s explore the keyboard or piano as our priority for this entry
In the olden days or times the keyboard or piano were mainly built from wood and mainly string mechanisms and the keys were very stiff and the risk of pressing is something that requires faith and a lot of effort before you can produce sounds. And I notice some instruments even have sharp edges or very hard key tops that have the tendency to injure the fingers. If not played with sensitivity or carefully. And one funny thing after all the effort put together the sound quality was also limited and kind of poor to say and I am sure there is no adjustment for the volume easily. I once saw a similar keyboard like that and I was angry because it sounded just like a toy keyboard.
But all thanks for innovation if not the struggles will continue but there was an upgrade.
With the help of technological improvement in all spheres of life we now have modern keyboards and amazing digital pianos with smooth or lightweight keys and most of the modernise keyboard came with built in sound libraries comprises of hundreds of instrument voices such as (drum, strings, organ, synth, bass, acoustic, etc). So just having the keyboard one person can as well play multiple instruments at once and create backing tracks, add effects and even compose full songs without needing a full band to accompany you. alone can produce all the above sounds. The modern keyboard has touch sensitivity to control volume and built in memory and also a recording feature. All this is the upgrade or innovation done to the keyboard. Before one needed multiple musicians before you could produce music but today one skilled person with a digital keyboard does that. What an innovation.
Innovation has made music more expressive, accessible and it can easily go global and you don’t need to be rich to own a good instrument and everyone can easily learn music online through apps and tutorials from youtube, facebook, tiktok, hive blockchain etc. And today musicians can record their songs at home and share them with the world in a few minutes and make their cool cash from there.

Looking at the science of innovation it is very clear that it’s not just about technology but also solving problems and also improving human experiences. The transformation of keyboard or piano from wooden to a smart digital instrument is proof that innovation makes life easier, exciting and richer.
