Welcome to another weekly IBT survival Island update - exclusive to Hive.
In these weekly updates we will continue to provide IBT community members with an update on our developing PC game - the one to have Crypto interactions.
The work continues on AI testing, its apparent that this is going to take quite allot of effort -- but we will not stop until this game is perfect! making maps for PC games has always been a passion, but making a game from nothing....well it's the ultimate challenge.
This week has been about cycling through checkpoints. When the AI reaches the first waypoint it will locate its next waypoint then number them in order if there are multiple waypoints. If the AI reaches the last checkpoint and there are no more waypoints it will start to back track all the previous waypoints it had reached until it goes all the way back to the first waypoint. From here it will start all over again. When the AI reaches each checkpoint it pauses. When it pauses it will start 2 sensors - One is sight and the second is sound. So basically it goes into a guard mode where if it needs to do a particular action after seeing a player it will do that here.
Creating a realistic survival gaming experience requires animals that behave a certain way...well like animals. While in general, if it quacks it must be a duck...sometimes ducks don't do what you think a duck might do :) Animals are unpredictable and have minds of their own. The characters and animals you interact with in IBT Survival Island will appear to have minds of their own and even learn from their interactions with your unique gaming style.
That's it for this week.
