You bring up very good points. There are certainly analogues to the monetary policy in the US.

Debt is not necessarily a bad thing, particularly if it enables productivity near term, that otherwise would only have been avail at a later time.

I'm not sure the subsequent addition to the debt on Hive is bringing much additional productivity.
