Another alternative that I've looked at for the Boosted Board Mini X is the Miles Dual, which costs $999(but its on a sale for $769).
My favorite thing about this board is the way it looks. Its the thinnest board that I've seen, and honestly, just looking at it you can't tell that its electric. And the color is amazing. The pink and black look great and the deck's pinstripe is amazing. They have other designs available, but I think that their main one, the pinstripe is the best.
One of the coolest thing about this board is that the batteries and other electric components are inside the deck. Thats an insane feature, that makes it look a lot more like a regular board. It also helps make it more water resistant than the others since the battery is inside. But I did hear that it can lead to problems. Looking at a few reviews, people said that the battery can rattle inside and make a noise. Also hard hits on the board can cause connections to fall loose some people have reported that they needed to get a new battery immediately after getting the board. That makes it a bit too risky to get, no matter how great it looks.
The battery is under the 160 Watt-Hour so with airline approval, I can travel with it. Now they claim 10-18 miles of range, which is quite a stark difference, and I think that comes from people's weight and them reporting max and min depending on people. I couldn't find a range test online, so I just have to trust their numbers. They also say 22+ mph. I don't know why they chose to do it that way, but on a review someone said they hit 25 mph. Thats definitely above 22 mph.
Now I'm hearing conflicting info on how the breaks are. Some say its too strong, others not strong enough so I'm confused on that part.
I tried to schedule a test ride with a local ambassador, but haven't heard back. I'll try again once the pandemic is over and I hope to be able to do so as I quite like this board. If I don't see any problems while testing it myself, this will definitely be a top consideration. What I hope happens though is that they release another version of this, with the problems of moving battery and quality issues with the breaks fixed. But we'll wait and see.
The one that I'm most likely to get is up next so stay tuned.
