Many people have various hobby items to decorate their homes, but the most vibrant and beautiful part of my home is my pet birds. Although there are several birds at home, the cockatiel pair in the picture is very close to my heart. Every morning I wake up to the sound of their sweet chirping. Taking care of them, feeding them and observing their antics from a close distance is now one of the best and most enjoyable parts of my daily life.
Each of my birds has a different appearance and characteristics. One has a beautiful yellow crest on its head, a gray body and a touch of bright orange on its cheeks, as if a skilled artist has decorated it with a perfect brushstroke. The other is covered in light-colored feathers, which have beautiful white and gray spots all over its body.
I regularly clean their cages every day, provide fresh food and clean water. However, feeding them is not my only job; what I like most is to observe their wonderful works very meticulously. Cockatiels are very intelligent and curious. When I stand in front of their cage, they tilt their heads as if trying to understand my thoughts. Sometimes they climb up the small ladder inside the cage, and sometimes they sit on a branch and flap their wings to announce their presence. I love watching these little tricks.
It is like watching their antics while eating. When their favorite food is offered in a red bowl, the sight of them lowering their heads and digging into it brings a strange peace to the mind. When they sit peacefully after eating, it is clear how safe and happy they are.
All the fatigue of a busy life disappears in an instant when I look at the restlessness and innocent activities of these innocent creatures. These birds are not only the decoration of my house, they are the companions of my loneliness and an integral part of my family. I find genuine joy and absolute peace of mind in taking care of them.
