La Universidad Central de Venezuela es la principal casa de estudios del país, con más de 300 años de historia desde sus aulas se han formado miles de profesionales que han contribuido de forma decisiva en el desarrollo integral del país y al mismo tiempo han dado grandes aportes para el mejoramiento de las condiciones de vida de la especie humana.

Desde su creación el concepto de campus universitario ha sido fundamental, para lograr la excelencia en la formación académica, el desarrollo eficiente de los procesos de investigación científica y la masificación de las actividades culturales y deportivas, pues con las instalaciones adecuadas todas estas actividades se pueden llevar a cabo de forma mucho más rápida y eficiente, logrando de este modo que los individuos que por acá pasan se sientan en un ambiente adecuado para explotar al máximo todas sus capacidades.
Taking into account all these needs, the Venezuelan architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva carried out a project called "The Synthesis of the Arts" where he would use the land of the old Hacienda Ibarra, years before owned by the Liberator Simón Bolívar, for the construction of an ambitious plan that had the objective of integrating architecture and art in a magnificent complex that is fully functional and adapted to the needs of a university as important as this one. The result of this plan would be the University City of Caracas, an architectural and artistic complex honored by UNESCO with the declaration of Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2000, where the genius of architecture is combined with works by great masters such as Mateo Manaure, Alexander Calder, Fernand Léger, Victor Vasarely, Francisco Narváez, among others.
Teniendo en cuenta todas estas necesidades el arquitecto venezolano Carlos Raúl Villanueva llevo a cabo un proyecto denominado “La Síntesis de las Artes” en donde usaría los terrenos de la antigua Hacienda Ibarra, años antes propiedad del Libertador Simón Bolívar, para la construcción de un ambicioso plan que tenia como objetivo integrar la arquitectura y el arte en un magnifico complejo totalmente funcional y adecuado a las necesidades propias de una universidad tan importante como esta. El resultado de este plan seria la Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas, complejo arquitectónico y artístico laureado por la UNESCO con la declaratoria de Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad en el año 2000, en donde la genialidad de la arquitectura se conjuga con obras de grandes maestros como Mateo Manaure, Alexander Calder, Fernand Léger, Victor Vasarely, Francisco Narváez, entre otros.
Walking through the spaces that comprise this University City is a true delight, as it allows us to enter a totally different world, where structural synchrony, well-combined colors and the well-thought-out presence of nature give us what can be considered as a masterpiece. It is incredible that despite the grandeur and extension of this place, it does not manage to overwhelm us, but on the contrary, it keeps us in a constant expectation to discover new elements that allow us to continue enjoying the unsurpassed mind and ingenuity of the architect.
Caminar por los espacios que comprende esta Ciudad Universitaria es un verdadero deleite, pues nos permite ingresar a un mundo totalmente diferente, en donde la sincronía estructural, los colores bien combinados y la presencia bien pensada de la naturaleza nos regala lo que se puede considerar como una obra maestra. Es increíble que a pesar de la grandeza y extensión de este lugar el mismo no logra abrumarnos, sino al contrario, nos mantiene en una constante expectativa por descubrir nuevos elementos que nos permitan seguir disfrutando de la insuperable mente he ingenio del arquitecto.
On this occasion I would like to present a short tour of the Central dependencies (Plaza del Rectorado, Rectorado, Covered Square, Nobody's Land, Surrounding Corridors) where the "Synthesis of the Arts" project reaches its maximum level and therefore So much is one of the most amazing areas of the university campus. I must tell you that currently, this entire area is undergoing a deep recovery and maintenance process, which seemed great to me, because little by little those places that were already suffering from the deterioration of time are regaining the brightness that they originally had at the time of their destruction. opening.
En esta oportunidad les quiero presentar un pequeño recorrido realizado por parte las dependencias Centrales (Plaza del Rectorado, Rectorado, Plaza Cubierta, Tierra de Nadie, Pasillos Circundantes) en donde el proyecto “Síntesis de las Artes” llega a su nivel máximo y por lo tanto es una de las zonas más increíbles del campus universitario. Debo decirles que actualmente, toda esta área se encuentra afrontando un proceso de recuperación y mantenimiento profundo, lo cual me pareció genial, pues poco a poco aquellos lugares que ya sufrían el deterioro del tiempo vuelven a recobrar el brillo que originalmente tenia al momento de su inauguración.

Encontrar una Ciudad Universitaria llena de vida, con muchos jóvenes estudiantes por todos lados, con los negocios y cafetines abiertos es una experiencia increíble, pues me hace recordar mis años de estudiante, cuando por un lustro esta fue mi segunda casa y desde allí luego salí al mundo convertido en un profesional. Una de las características mas llamativas de este recinto es la gran cantidad de murales y obras de arte que se presentan por todos lados, es genial ver cada placa y en ellas reconocer los nombres de grandes exponentes del arte moderno, quienes dejaron su huella imborrable en este suelo caraqueño, muchos de ellos incluso no llegaron a ver personalmente sus obras instaladas acá, pero su genialidad es hoy en día disfrutada por miles de personas que hacen vida dentro de “La Casa Que Vence La Sombra”
