Hola amigos, estoy encantado de participar en esta edición #12 del concurso FOTOCELF y esto tiene que ver muy especialmente con la temática de concurso que es: "Blanco y Negro".
Hello friends, I am delighted to participate in this edition #12 of the FOTOCELF contest and this has to do especially with the theme of the contest which is: "Black and White".
La fotografía monocromática es uno de mis "fetiches fotográficos" favoritos, siempre lo digo.
Monochrome photography is one of my favourite "photographic fetish", I always say so.
Y es que en blanco y negro, cuando los colores se van, queda desnuda "el alma" de la imagen. Imagino que es por eso que una fotografía monocromática tiende a tener mayor dramatismo y elocuencia que su versión en colores.
And it is that in black and white, when the colours are gone, the "soul" of the image is left naked. I imagine that's why a monochrome photograph tends to have more drama and eloquence than its colour version.
Claro, esa es mi opinión bastante particular al respecto, pero creo que de alguna manera se puede estar de acuerdo con esto que afirmo.
Of course, that's my own particular opinion on the matter, but I think that in some ways you can agree with what I'm saying.
Esta media docena de fotografías son inéditas y las seleccioné de mis archivos RAW específicamente para participar en este concurso mediante esta publicación.
These half a dozen photographs are unpublished and I selected them from my RAW files specifically to participate in this competition through this publication.
Todas fueron realizadas el mismo día, durante una caminata mañanera por las calles mi pueblo. Ese día el gusto por hacer las fotos fue mayor al acostumbrado, pues las calles estaban repletas de neblinas matutinas, como suele ocurrir después de muchos días de lluvias.
All shots were taken on the same day, during a morning walk through the streets of my village. That day the pleasure of taking the pictures was greater than usual, because the streets were full of morning mist, as it usually happens after many days of rain.
Suelo salir a hacer fotos para pensar y para ejercitarme al mismo tiempo. Para mi la fotografía y la reflexión siempre han ido juntas, esto se hace sentir en mayor medida cuando hago fotografías en estas calles que conozco desde niño y a su vez están repletas de memorias y anécdotas que forman parte de mi.
I usually go out to take pictures to think and to exercise at the same time. For me, photography and reflection have always gone hand in hand and this is felt to a greater effect when I take photographs in these streets that I have known since I was a child and that are full of memories and anecdotes that are part of me.
Basta caminar unos pocos metros en las calles repletas de niebla, para que las escenas cotidianas comiencen a sucederse una tras otra. Pero, aunque son siempre las mismas calles, nunca nada ocurre igual. Esa es la magia particular de esta afición. Pasa lo mismo con todo los lugares imagino. Como si lo cotidiano se transformara continuamente cuando lo abrazan el tiempo y las luces de cada día que solo sucede una vez... Entonces, el truco es captar eso con la cámara y disfrutarlo.
It is enough to walk a few metres through the foggy streets, and the daily scenes begin to unfold one after the other. But even though they are always the same streets, nothing is ever the same. That is the particular magic of this hobby. It's the same with all places I imagine. As if the everyday is continuously transformed when it is embraced by the time and the lights of each day that only happens once... So the trick is to capture that with the camera and enjoy it.
Todas las fotos las he realizado con mi fiel cámara Nikon D7000 y mi (también extremadamente fiel) lente zoon Sigma 18-200mm.
All photos were taken with my trusty Nikon D7000 camera and my (also extremely trusty) Sigma 18-200mm zoon lens.
La edición de las imágnes capturadas en RAW suelo hacerla usando Adobe Camera Raw y Adobe Photoshop CS6 EX, tabién suelo usar un lindo software libre llamado PhotoScape v3.6.3 para algunos ajustes finales y agregar mascas de agua.
The editing of the RAW images is usually done using Adobe Camera Raw and Adobe Photoshop CS6 EX, I also use a nice free software called PhotoScape v3.6.3 for some final adjustments and adding watermarks.
Para proceso de edición en realidad suelo ser un "anarquista consumado" pues no tengo un método estándard, sino que para cada foto suelo hacer según me va pareciendo dado el carácter propio de la foto en cuestión.
For the editing process I'm really a "consummate anarchist" as I don't have a standard method, but for each photo I usually do as I see fit given the character of the photo in question.
