Greetings, community. It's been almost a month since I last published anything in this blog space dedicated to photography, after commenting that I would do it eventually. From that moment on I started taking pictures and leaving them saved in my cell phone so that when the occasion came, I would actually share with you pictures of days gone by. And these are the photos that I bring you today.
Street photographs, taken in some areas of Naguanagua, the small city where I live, converted into black and white to capture the essence of the moment.
Let's start with some I took in the morning, between six and seven o'clock, after a night of partying in which many things happened.
Saludos, comunidad. Hace casi un mes que no publico nada en este espacio del blog dedicado a la fotografía, luego de comentar que lo haría de forma eventual. Desde ese momento empecé a tomar fotos y a dejarlas guardadas en el móvil para sentir que cuando llegara la ocasión, realmente les compartiera fotografías de días pasados. Y estas son las fotos que hoy les traigo.
Fotografías de calle, tomadas en algunas zonas de Naguanagua, la pequeña ciudad en cual resido, convertidas en blanco y negro para captar la esencia del momento.
Comencemos con unas que tomé por la mañana, entre las seis y siete, luego de una noche de fiesta en la que ocurrieron muchas cosas.
Now let's move on to the route I take Monday through Friday mornings, when I go to the library to work as a contributor (I'll talk in more detail about this in another post), where I always see something different from the day before.
Ahora pasemos al recorrido que hago de lunes a viernes por las mañanas, cuando voy a la biblioteca a trabajar como colaborador (en otra publicación hablaré con más detalle sobre esto), en el que siempre veo algo distinto al día anterior.
Back home, the hustle and bustle of the streets continues.
De regreso a casa, el ajetreo de las calles continua.
The same is true if we see the panorama from another street.
Lo mismo ocurre si vemos el panorama desde otra calle.
I confess that I still don't dare to take photos shamelessly, that's why in these I share with you the people are with their backs turned or carelessly. I don't like to draw attention to myself when I walk down the street and I think that no one likes it when a stranger points a cell phone at them and takes a picture without their consent. I guess I will eventually lose my embarrassment until I manage to ask a stranger, may I take your picture?
For now, this is what I can show you. As you may have seen in some of the photos, in the background are the mountains that surround the city (one of the reasons why I like to live here). I am telling you this because I would like to say goodbye with a picture I took on a rainy day, which at first glance seems to communicate nothing, but if you are from the area and know this street, you can notice that the silhouette of the hill "El Café" is missing in the background, thanks to the gray clouds of that day.
Confieso que aún no me atrevo a tomar fotos descaradamente, por eso en estas que les comparto las personas salen de espalda o descuidadas. No me gusta llamar la atención cuando voy por la calle y pienso que a nadie le agrada que un extraño los apunte con el móvil y les saque una foto sin su consentimiento. Supongo que con el tiempo iré perdiendo la pena hasta que logre preguntarle a un extraño, ¿me permite sacarle una foto?
Por ahora, esto es lo que puedo mostrarles. Como habrán podido apreciar en algunas fotos, en el fondo aparecen las montañas que rodean la ciudad (una de las razones por cuales me gusta vivir aquí). Se los comento porque quisiera despedirme con una fotografía que tomé en un día de lluvia, la cual a primera vista parece no comunicar nada, pero si eres de la zona y conoces esta calle, puedes notar que falta la silueta del cerro «El café» en el fondo, gracias a las nubes grises de aquel día.
