The Russian vision is a multipolar world order where great powers with their own sphere of influence use economic threat and other kinds of threats to maintain leadership within their country
In this world order power is distributed amongst multiple nations rather than one single power like the way America currently dominates the world
Or bipolar order (United States and China)
This kind of idea would create many hegemonic power with each maintaining their own lane without stepping on others eg
Russia
China
India
Brazil
This comes of the belief that no single country should freely detect global rules or intervene in the affairs of others
The disadvantage of this is less trade and more sanctions
but it's an advantage for an isolated economy like Russia's economy
The bigger picture is to unseat the United States as the global super power and promote a more regional hegemony with countries free to use different local currency for trade than just one reserve currency
But a multipolar world can stir chaos and increase instability if not managed properly and this may increase power struggle and regional conflicts
Russia's invasion of Ukraine is seen as a contradiction to its very own principle.
