I've Been Creating Orchid Update Posts ..
For quite some time now. I really enjoy buying, caring for, and watching them grow. The payoff for all the hard work and patients is the moment when the flower buds open and fill our home with color and warmth.
After a little thought and contemplation, and a little suggestion from 
I am not sure if it will amount to much, but I am really interested in meeting others who share the passion or who just love the unique beauty of Orchids.
As you can see, I have a Orchid addiction and can not leave the store without taking one of these beauties home.. Primarily Phalaenopsis
Why An Orchid Community ..
This community was established as a place for Orchid Lovers to post about Orchids. The community is also a place for individuals, who have an interest in Orchids, to interact with others having the same passion.
The Orchid Family of Flowering Plants ..
Is one of the two largest families known to exist. I believe there are over 28,000 species now documented!
Another Reason for creating this community.. Was so it could be utilized as a learning tool. I am, and quite possible many others are only armatures when it comes to Orchids, and I am looking to expand on that simple knowledge of these delicate plants. I think a community, with a primary focus on Orchids, could help with this goal of learning more about Orchids.
Orchidaceae, aka Orchids.. Are sometimes labeled as "hard to care for", and get thrown away in disgust by frustrated plant owners. Hopefully, we as a community, can change that opinion.
Orchids are a sensitive family of flowering plants.. But with the proper love and care from us humans, they can brighten our living spaces and bring a sense of calm to our environments.. not to mention their stunningly beautiful flowers!
The Rules..
We can't let the rules go un-mentioned. I think to keep the community grounded to why it was created in the first place, a few rules needed to be put into place. Like all rules, they will evolve and may change as interest grows and I receive feedback on what direction this should go.

2 - Cross Posting of posts that are primarily about Orchids is allowed
3 - No NSFW posts about Orchids please (hey, you never know)

My Little But Growing Family Of Orchids ..
I've posted plenty about my Orchids, and these posts can be found scattered throughout my feed. I am happy to now have a home for those posts, and hopefully spark some excitement for those who admire these fantastic plants.
I am sure it won't be long until I am buying another Orchid. I really haven't done so since Pepper, my Orchid buddy, passed away. The excitement I had shared with him, and my memory of his unusual curiosity of these plants, crumbled and took a back seat after his death. I am looking to revive that excitement.
With Every Post About Orchids.. That I create or read here in this new community, will bring back those lovely memories and let them live strong for years to come. I hope a few of you out there will help me out with that and keep the memories alive.
