The other day I went to the forest doing the route of Pinhal das Freiras in Portugal, where I always spend some times to clear my mind in nature and I had a brief knowledge that it was an area where you can find orchids, but I did not get to find any until today, also as you can see in the photos, this natural area is having a drastic change in one of its areas, they are cutting and clearing a large part of the forest; However, last summer it suffered a fire that burned a large part, obviously due to human unconsciousness, so I thought that maybe that was one of the reasons, maybe they will go to plant and save the land, but today I have no information or initiative of the future of this place, we do not know if it will be urbanized or will have new plants...

El otro día me dirigí al bosque haciendo la ruta de Pinhal das Freiras en Portugal, donde siempre paso algunas veces para despejar mi mente en la naturaleza y tenía un breve conocimiento que era una zona donde puedes encontrarte con orquídeas, pero no llegue a encontrar alguna hasta el día de hoy, además que como pueden apreciar en las fotos, esta zona natural está teniendo un cambio drástico en una de sus zonas, están talando y limpiando una gran parte del bosque; sin embargo, en el verano pasado sufrió un incendio que quemo una gran parte, obviamente por inconsciencia del ser humano así que pensé que tal vez fue ese uno de los motivos tal vez irán a plantar y salvar el terreno, pero al día de hoy no tengo ninguna información o iniciativa del futuro de este lugar, no sabemos si será urbanizado o tendrá nuevas plantas...

Now that we know a little of where we found this last survivor from my point of view, because I have traveled several times in this area and I only found this friend. It is an orchid, to be exact, a Barlia robertiana (Loisel) Greuter. Analyzing with our sights we can observe that it is in bloom, with a color similar to purple to lilac, with a white spot with little brown dots, maybe brown, I share this data from my knowledge, also one of the possibilities that are scarce is that normally in this forest also inhabit wild boars and they love to eat orchids, but I have not been able to see any, but it can also enter one of the reasons why they are in extension in this zone, but in my opinion we humans can be one of the big causes for example, the fires and urbanizing the zones where they live.
Interesting things about this orchid. Its height can vary from 15 to 80 cm, but most of the time it does not exceed 50 cm. It has two bulbs or sometimes three. It has basal leaves between (5 to 10 leaves), also another of the things that characterize it, unlike the rest of orchids, is its height, it can reach up to 0.5 m high and its scientific name is due to its botanical discoverer Jean-Baptiste Barla.

Ahora que sabemos un poco de dónde nos encontramos esta última sobreviviente desde mi punto de vista, porque he recorrido varias veces esta zona y solo me encontré a esta amiga. Se trata de una orquídea, para ser exactos, una Barlia robertiana (Loisel) Greuter. Analizando con nuestras vistas podemos observar que está florecida, con un color similar morado a lila, con una mancha blanca con puntitos tal vez castaño, estos datos lo comparto desde mi conocimiento, también una de las posibilidades que están escasas es que normalmente en este bosque habitan también jabalís y ellos adoran comer orquídeas, pero no he logrado avistar ninguno, pero también puede entrar en uno de los motivos por el cual están en extensión en esta zona, pero en mi opinión nosotros los humanos podemos ser uno de los grandes causantes por ejemplo, los incendios y urbanizando las zonas donde habitan.
Cosas interesantes de esta orquídea. Su altura puede variar de 15 a 80 cm, pero la mayor parte del tiempo no sobrepasa los 50 cm. Cuenta con dos bulbos o, a veces, tres. Tiene hojas basales entre (5 a 10 hojas), también otra de las cosas que la caracterizan, a diferencia del resto de orquídeas, es su altura, puede alcanzar hasta 0,5 m de altura y su nombre científico se debe a su descubridor botánico Jean-Baptiste Barla.
