Caminito: A Composition of Colors
Tourist spaces are representative symbols of a town and a country. This time I share with you images of an iconic place of a neighborhood in Argentina called Boca. A corner of the neighborhood explains the historical growth through art, a universal language that in this way achieves connection with visitors. Los espacios turísticos son símbolos representativos de una localidad y de un país. En esta oportunidad les comparto imágenes de un lugar icónico de un barrio de Argentina llamado Boca. Un rincón del barrio explica el crecimiento histórico a través del arte, un lenguaje universal que de esta manera logra conexión con los visitantes. One of the reasons for being called Caminito, is due to a nostalgic love experience that became a tango, Caminito, a song performed by Carlos Gardel and composed by Filiberto. In this passage of the city is the graphic representation of an artistic cultural movement that emerged and that nowadays is necessary to preserve its essence, that is to say, facades, works and constructions made with cement, among the outstanding artists is the hands of a mason painter, Vicente Walter.
Uno de los motivos para llamarse Caminito, se debe a una experiencia nostálgica amorosa que se convirtió en un tango, Caminito, canción interpretada por Carlos Gardel y compuesta por Filiberto. En este pasaje de la ciudad se encuentra la representación gráfica de un movimiento cultural artístico que emergió y que actualmente es necesario preservar su esencia, es decir, fachadas, obras y construcciones realizadas con cemento, entre los artistas destacados de encuentra las manos de un albañil pintor, Vicente Walter.
The tour struck me, because it conveys a social life that underwent several changes until it became what it is today; an energetic art that surrounds the pedestrian street of Caminito that provides interesting insights.
El recorrido tuvo impacto en mi, porque transmite una vida social que sufrió varios cambios hasta llegar a lo que es hoy; un arte con energía que envuelve la calle peatonal de Caminito que aporta conocimiento de interés.
The famous painter Benito Quinquela Martin promoted the painting of the tenements (wooden and zinc houses) located on the curve where a streetcar used to pass, in different colors to beautify the place and visitors would be happy to perceive the combination of colors or the harmony between them in the passage called Curva before being Caminito and thus break with the cold gray buildings for the time.
El famoso pintor Benito Quinquela Martín promovió que los conventillos, (casas de madera y de zinc) ubicados en la curva que pasaba un tranvía, fueran pintados de diferentes colores para embellecer el lugar y los visitantes se alegraran al percibir la combinación de colores o la armonía entre ellos en el pasaje llamado Curva antes de ser Caminito y así romper con las frías edificaciones grises para la época.
Before reaching the alley of merry stones is the Wax Museum. An old sign that correlates with the historical milestones narrated in the showcases. There are wax figures from the first foundation and the image of Juan de Dios Filiberto, composer of the song Caminito.
Antes de llegar al callejón de piedras alegre se encuentra el Museo de Cera. Un cartel antiguo que guarda correlación con los hitos históricos narrados en las vitrinas. Hay personajes de ceras de la primera fundación y está la imagen de Juan de Dios Filiberto compositor de la canción Caminito.
On the facades of the tenements, there are sculptures of citizens and artists or important characters such as: Boxer Carlos Monzón, Footballer Maradona and political representative Evita Perón, among others; the figures perform the practice of leaning out of the balconies with a joyful attitude that they wish to share the emotion that overwhelms them.
En las fachadas de los conventillos, hay esculturas de ciudadanos y artistas o personajes importantes como: El Boxeador Carlos Monzón, el Futbolista Maradona y la representante política Evita Perón, entre otros; las figuras realizan la práctica de asomarse a los balcones con actitud alegre que desean compartir la emoción que les embarga.
On the walls of Caminito there are different illustrations of artists that relate the movement that took place, one of them is the relief made by Julio César Vergottini who created "La Canción", shows the musical movement at the time, while others reveal the work done in leather or iron.
En las paredes de Caminito hay diferentes ilustraciones de artistas que relatan el movimiento que hubo, una de ellas es el relieve elaborado por Julio César Vergottini quien creó "La Canción", muestra la movida musical para el momento, mientras que, otras develan el trabajo realizado en cueros o hierro.
The galleries of handicraft sales of food, clothes, leather, among others, are also full of colors and have murals that explain the folkloric dynamics of the place as the Murga, a group of musicians and dancers. The restaurants perform folkloric dances and invite visitors to clap their hands or dance.
Las galerías de ventas artesanales de comida, subvenir, cuero, entre otros, también están colmadas de colores y poseen murales que explican la dinámica folklórica del lugar como la Murga, un grupo de músicos y bailarines. Los restaurantes realizan bailes folclóricos e invitan a los visitantes aplaudir o animarse a bailar.
To visit Caminito is to live the past in the present, because the color and the works made the place a different and striking composition told in the open air. People get involved with this outdoor museum because they know the somber social motif that embraced them and that thanks to the relationship of colors awaken smiles, motives and inspiration, there was a purpose to shine, it was the color and the community work that gave the impulse to change an unfavorable circumstance to be a place brimming with happiness.
Visitar Caminito es vivir el pasado en la actualidad, porque el color y las obras hicieron del lugar una composición contada diferente y llamativa al aire libre. Las personas se involucran con este museo al intemperie porque conocen el motivo social sombrío que los abrazó y que gracias a la relación de los colores despiertan sonrisas, motivos e inspiración, hubo un propósito de brillar, fue el color y el trabajo en comunidad que dio el impulso para cambiar una circunstancia desfavorable en un lugar rebosado de felicidad.
The place is crowded because of the diversity of options it offers; however, I shared with you the expression of the art of painting, sculpture, relief and more, since the curve of Caminito is small but infinite in topics (food, commerce and crafts), as well as the range of colors that compose it, gives it vibrancy and mental health, a lifestyle that has reason to celebrate.
Es concurrido el lugar por la diversidad de opciones que ofrece; sin embargo, les compartí la expresión del arte de pintura, escultura, relieve y más, ya que, la curva de Caminito es pequeña pero infinito en tópicos (comida, comercio y artesanía), así como la gama de colores que la componen, le otorga vibra y salud mental, un estilo de vida que tiene motivos para celebrar.
