and I have been mutual followers of each other for quite some time now. When he posted this challenge the other day, I knew that I had to participate.
It might be cheating a little but I am going to skip past the earlier part of my life. First, I don't really remember all the details and second, the artists might not hold much significance for many of the readers on here.
The earliest concerts I went to were through my church youth group and consisted of artists like Carmen, Newsboys, Code of Ethics, and Degarmo and Key. Never heard of them before? I am not surprised. You would have needed to be plugged into the Christian music scene in the 80's/90's to recognize many of them.
Even back then I listened to pretty much all kinds of music, but going to concerts wasn't really on my priority list. That all changed in college and beyond...
Starting in my college years at Saginaw Valley State University, here is the breakdown:
First concert: Moby, Bush @ SVSU, I can't remember the year, but they came to the college campus and it was a pretty big deal. Awesome show. I don't really remember Moby much, but Bush was awesome!
Last concert: Gary Allen at the Huntington Park Amphitheater in Saginaw, MI. I did a post about it if you want to look back in my blog. August 2019 or there abouts...
Best concert: This one is tough... Probably a four way tie between David Bowie at the Palace in Auburn Hills, U2 also at the Palace, Sugarland at DTE Theater in Clarkston, MI, or Couting Crows at Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, MI
Loudest concert: Hands down, KISS at Dow Event Center in Saginaw, MI
Seen the most: This would be a tie between Bon Jovi and Counting Crows (my wifes favorite band and mine respectively)
Most fun concert: Either PHISH or the two years I went to Buckeye Country Superfest
Next concert: Sir Elton John at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI
Wish I had seen: The Beatles, Zepplin, CCR
There you go! I am just going to go out on a limb and tag a couple people here to see what their answers are. ,
