The best film of all is called "Pride and Prejudice". It tells the story of Elisabeth, a girl from a humble family, with 5 sisters, a mother who is a professional at building successful marriages and a loving father who does not get too involved in his daughters' affairs.

We also have the protagonist who is Mr. Darcy, a proud and arrogant man from one of the best and richest families in London.
I've seen this film many times, I never get tired of watching it, I observe in it every detail of the time, its setting, the costumes, the vocabulary used, the customs and much more. It is very difficult not to be transported to those times and I imagine that the director had to do the same to know all these details.
The story takes place in a rural area of England in the early 19th century; it is a time when being part of the aristocratic society prevailed over everything else. Having a family name and owning a lot of property was the greatest attraction of that time.
I think writer Jane Austen thought of every detail when writing the book and the director and his team of producers didn't let any of them slip through their fingers, and even went further in creating this unparalleled production.
The main character Keira Knightley, who plays the leading role, has a tender and deep look but at the same time she is haughty; in each of her scenes she emphasizes the educated, refined, deep vocabulary for the time, very mature for a woman who is supposed to be submissive, to whom from childhood she is prepared only and exclusively for the marriage.
Here are some brief lines taken from one of the scenes that most impacted me in the film.
<From the very beginning, almost from the first moment I met you, your manners convinced me of your arrogance, your vanity and your selfish disdain for other people's feelings; they displeased me in such a way that they gave birth to a disapproval that later events turned into a firm dislike; and it was not even a month ago that I met you when I knew that you would be the last man on earth I could marry.
Elizabeth Bennet; Chapter XXXIV
On the other hand, the actor Matthew Macfadyen, who plays the rich and proud Mr. Darcy, proves to be a cold man, without feelings, of little grace, who finds it easy to judge people lightly, and this is what entangles the story from the beginning and makes the love that could have been born between some of the characters end without even having had a chance.
I've always said that in my other life I had to be born at that time, since I love the costumes they wear in these film productions, I love corcet dresses, long silk fabrics and big but elegant hats. The light colors are elegant and transmit sweetness. I find the necklines very attractive to women without being so outrageous.
The men's suits are very serious with outfits ranging from avocado and top hats, large scarves on the neck, also many wore the red military suits.
Shocking scenes appear as the film progresses, but one of the ones that most impresses me is the one where it seems in one of the scenes when Elisabeth visits Penderle, Mr. Darcy's house, everything is a delight of beautiful landscapes, trees, gardens, fountains and castles.
Here I could sit writing much more than I think of the film, love and hate, people's ambition, convenient marriages arranged by parents and more.
I'm very happy to have been able to express a little more my appreciation for a film that I love and will never stop watching.
