When i think of my childhood, the first memory that comes to mind is my grandparents, I am the oldest of my brothers, my parents had to work to support the household.

In my grandmother's house I played checkers or monopoly with my cousin, she made us coffee with milk and bread, I remember her super delicious food, the cachapas with cheese, the caraotas, or hallacas at Christmas, her beautiful plants, I slept several times in her house, they had a black cat and I was afraid to see her eyes at night. My grandfather used to take us to the beach on Sundays in his Volkswagen.
My other grandmother worked in a community center, where I spent several weekends. I remember running through the halls with my cousin, and playing with dolls, they had a big dog that scared us.
I learned to read, buying bread with my grandfather, he told me to read all the signs of the stores that I saw on the road, and one day as if by magic I had learned.
The school was far from the house, and I had to walk through a dirt track to get there. Every day they gave us breakfast and milk, I was always a little shy, but I adapted thanks to the teachers, when I left school I ran to buy sweet arepitas with aniseed, which they sold nearby.
My grandfather had a bookstore and gave me all the supplies I needed, I still remember the smell of new books and prismacolor crayons, my mom would put the label on the notebooks and cover them with contact paper.
At Christmas, they would take me skating at Christmas Eve masses, sometimes I didn't have any new clothes, my grandfather would send me envelopes with money to buy ice cream or cakes.

I remember one day my mom bought me a baby chicken, but after a few days my dad stood up at night in the bathroom and crushed it, it was traumatic, he wouldn't stop crying.
When I was 9 years old my brother was born, my grandfather was a fan of the series Dark Shadows, and he gave him the nickname Barnabas because of the vampire that is the protagonist of the series, until today we call him that.
Twice a year, all the cousins would get together, and they would take us to the parks. I also traveled with my mom to my aunts' house in Valencia where we played hide-and-seek and bathed in the rain.
