I just woke up after some Saturday couch-snoozing and felt a heaviness in my chest region, almost like I couldn't breathe. It's ok though, fear not, a quick look revealed the heaviness was caused by my little cat Cleo asleep on my chest, not the onset of old-age-related breathing difficulties. I'm not that old y'all!
Cleo has been a little out of sorts for a few days; She's a very wary cat and doesn't like anyone but us or respond well to change; Her entire world is upside down at the moment though because we just moved house. She is still settling in so is either hiding under the couch, the bed or cuddling up close to faith or myself like just now.
We moved house on Thursday, a partial move, as Faith and I have come to live at her mum's house for a little while which makes it easier to look after her mum post cancer-operation. Moving back and forth between our house and hers like we did last time became very annoying so we decided to do it differently.
Cleo is still exploring and getting settled however and spends a fair amount of time snuggled under the covers on the bed as in the photo above. She'll get settled though, and I don't mind her snuggling in with me whilst I snooze on the couch either.
Cleo hiding under the bed covers today...She doesn't like change and is still getting settled.
It's been a lazy Saturday for me. Faith went off for work early and I'm unable to leave the house as her mum has to have constant observation; I need to take her temperature and blood pressure every hour and keep an eye on her as there are potential life-threatening complications from the surgery she had last week to treat her cancer; These revolve around fluid on the lungs mainly, pneumonia, as they went in that way, through her ribs and microwaved her liver which is where the cancer is.
So...I'm a doctor today, the world's laziest one, because I only have one patient and loads of time for snoozing.
I was up early this morning though and got some yard work done outside, mainly sweeping and tidying up to make sure things are kept to a good standard. She won't be able to do anything for a while and besides, I do most of that sort of thing around here anyway. I started early as it's a very hot day here today and wanted to get it done before it heated right up.
Afterwards I sat at my computer answering replies on hive and checking out comments on the #weekend-engagement topic post I released yesterday. There's some funny comments for sure. Check it out here if you like.
I also spent some time working on my genealogy project which I've been doing since 2013 - Charting my family tree. I had snacks and cool drinks of course and had a reasonably productive few hours.
I had to do my doctorish-duties as well of course, kept an eye on things, and am happy to report all is well with the patient so far.
This weekend is destined to be spent at home, my mother in-laws home, doing nothing much at all really...I think I'll snooze a lot and watch wildlife documentaries mostly. I'm also in the middle of a book on military tactics called Sparta at War: Strategy, Tactics and Campaigns by Dr Scott M Rusch. It's good reading folks. The temperature is going to be a hit 38°C on Sunday so we'll crank up the air conditioning and let Sunday unfold is its lazy old way.
I hope y'all have a great weekend and have something nice planned, or nothing much a all like me. Either way, deploy with vigour, or sloth-like behaviour, depending which is most appropriate. Tell me about it in the comments - Tell me what you're doing this weekend!
Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default - Tomorrow isn't promised.
Be well
