Here we go again! As the spread of the Corona-virus continues here in South Africa at a rapid rate, we just had an announcement that Alcohol sales are restricted with immediate effect. AGAIN!
I am not much of a drinker myself, but I do like to have a drink now and again. I don't drink any hard liquor so the ban will not affect me much, but I am sure my husband will not be happy when he wakes up to hear that he will NOT be allowed to buy his Beer for the week. There is no indication when the ban will be lifted so the illegal traders must be jumping of joy at this stage.
It's funny how this Virus turned many people into criminals in a matter of weeks. Sneaking out to a friend, or buying illegal cigarettes or alcohol is not a funny sight. People tend to be quite open about it, and it's like they WANT to show the government that they will not abide by their rules. They act like naughty children, and it's going to cost them their lives.
In reality, I don't think people really believe how serious this virus is. People are not following the rules and therefore the restrictions are put in place. In the Bible, Moses was the chosen one, but he did not go into the promised land, because he did not listen to God.
Our President sounded quite serious about his address tonight, and I do hope that people will start listening and start following the rules.
We might not all understand the logic behind this, but then again, the governent might have their reasons and they might know something we don't.
What the government does not understand, is that when someone wants to drink or smoke, they will do ANYTHING to get their drug of choice! People tend to move around more when they have to search for illegal goods, and people are now sharing cigarettes because it has become so expensive, that they don't have a choice.
If you're an addict, you're an addict!
I am truly sad that people are making a farce about the whole Virus. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their lives and if people do not start listening and doing what they are told, many more are going to die. It's a dreadful awful time for all of us, but we don't have much of a choice. We should motivate people to abide by the rules and it is our responsibility as citizens to stop complaining and to just follow the rules. However absurd they may be.
I hope and pray that this will be over soon, and that we can at least try to go back to our normal lives again. The impact this whole lockdown had on the economy is something I don't even want to talk about. It's just sad. Many businesses have closed down, and there is nothing that can be done about it.
We can just pray that there is a reason why all this is happening over the world, and we should turn ourselves back into the direction of God because HE is the only one that can help us through this.
Let us praise and worship HIM because HE sent HIS son to die for OUR sins, and God will not let us go through anything that we cannot handle. God is watching every single person on this Earth and HE loves you more than you can even imagine!
Even before you were born, He knew how your life would turn out. He planned it, so pray to HIM and ask HIM for guidance through this difficult time. Never be afraid of anything because God will protect you.
Luke 12:7
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
