This is the spot on these blistering summer days. It's the view here, sitting with my garage door open where the cool breeze blows.
Oh NO!! Not The Rolling Blackouts!
Whatever will I do? How will I post on HIVE? Lol. Not to worry, it's all in the master plan. You see, I sit out on the patio posting on HIVE each day from my cellphone.
Some folks prefer the PeakD interface for cellphone writing. The Esteem (on the verge of Ecency) App seems to suit me well.
So....even should we experience the dreaded rolling Blackouts here in sunny SoCal, I won't have any downtime from HIVE. It might not be a bad idea to go charge my phone a while. I'm not sure if our powerpack is charged up or not. 😲😲
Will The Power Lines Stop Buzzing?
Hmmm. See those power lines running through the canyon below our townhouse? I wonder in an outage, will they stop buzzing? That would nice. Only the sound of the birds and the cars on I-78 would be heard.
Will I get a partial refund for not having any electricity? Nope. The charge by the Giggawatt (Doc told me so).
9 Years Back We Had A Complete Power Outage In San Diego County
More or less nine years ago, all of SD County went dark. A major transformer blew somewhere along the line and it was hours before power was restored.
It was like living in the middle ages, except we still had cars, and gas, and generators.
At the time the grid shut down, we had just set a large machine in place for Solar Turbines. Being a huge production facility for turbine engines, we were unable to continue working.
Their generators kicked on but work conditions weren't deemed safe enough to continue that day. It was an interesting ride from Downtown SD back to Poway in the tractor. Most of the traffic lights were out in the city.
It was an even stranger drive home in my car. I was lucky to find a gas station with a generator that was open, or I wouldn't have made it back at all. As it was, night had fallen and the freeway was pitch black. None of the normal lights of the city or houses were gleaming.
The (Not So) Sober Living House
At this point in time, my wife and I were separated and I stayed in a sober living facility. My wife just called it a half house the other day. I told her she was wrong, they were not so sober living apartments.
Man. I had a one track mind to straighten out and those fucktards would eat my food. While I was at work and they were doing the twack, nonetheless! Of course, they'd only steal my food when the shit ran dry. You had to watch those slime balls and set lookouts when possible.
I do have to say, though, crackheads can be resourceful. By the time I returned that from work they had a generator running. All the lights were on and the TV was blaring...as usual.
Reminiscing, Yesterday Makes Today Feel Like A Breeze
I suppose the point of my ruminations as I sit here in the shady breeze, is to take time to remember my blessings. Life hasn't always been easy. I could have helped make it a lot less bumpy along the way, but that's life.
As it stands right now, not even a rolling blackout would stop me from sharing a bit here on HIVE. Back in those days, I couldn't keep my head together enough to write anything.
And if the power does go out for longer than a minute, at least I won't have to deal not so sober twackheads possessed by a blaring TV.
Thanks for your time and as always...
