I said to my soul, be still and wait without hope, for hope would be hope for the wrong thing; wait without love, for love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith, but the faith and the love are all in the waiting. Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought: So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.” ― T.S. Eliot
Sat around the fire tonight, contemplating my life. There was a time “once a little while ago” when it was ridiculously complicated, but I reached a point of no return in that game and decided I wanted to opt out. Opt out I did – and I am ever grateful I did. Sure, I have less in the “eyes of the world”, but in my own eyes… I now have a lot more!
Read a quote earlier tonight which punched me straight in the chest. It made me think long and hard about what I am doing with my minutes, hours, days, weeks and years.
If there is even a slight chance at getting something that will make you happy... risk it! Life is too short and happiness is too rare.
I could sit for an entire evening alongside flames and my inner most thoughts. Tonight I was consumed by the craving for a very specific change. When you sit somewhere, yet wish to be elsewhere - it can become an incredibly challenging internal battle. Something which needs to be "managed" - yet seldom is.
I have realised that I am simply going to have to manage it - for the simple reason that I want it that much! In the interim, the process itself is probably one of the most beautiful things I could ever have wished to have been party to.
“The mind can go in a thousand directions, but on this beautiful path, I walk in peace. With each step, the wind blows. With each step, a flower blooms.”― Thich Nhat Hanh
