I'm sorry I haven't been around for days, not much anyway.
To recap; I've been going in and out of a febrile condition for over a month.
I was, and remain convinced that I have a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) crawling around in my system, but so far the numbers aren't showing that.
Still
Last Monday I woke up after a feverish weekend, showered and drove to the VA where I had a dreadful time trying to do what my DR had told me to do and get labs done.
When I left here, I was not feverish.
At both the VA entrance and at the ER entrance, I tested at 97.6°F (normal for me)
As I left to come home, I went through the VA drive thru Covid testing site, where the person could not stick the swab all the way to the back of my head as I've seen on TV.
I drove home angry and feeling out of sorts.
The ER Dr called to tell me the Antibody test was negative; I had not PREVIOUSLY been exposed.
I began running a fever that night, which continued almost unabated through last night.
I have been in a near constant state of lethargy, pain in the back, almost no urine output, and since I have had no appetite, I've not been eating, so no poop to speak of.
Friday, my VA PCP called to tell me the nasal swab had shown positive for covid 19.
The ONLY symptom I've had that fits THEIR agenda/definition was the fever.
I have NOT lost any sensation in my fingers
I have NOT lost any sense of taste
I have NOT had any cough, sneezing or congestion
I have NOT had diarrhea, but every time I answer their questions, they try to herd me into a corner of covid symptoms.
They did NOT test for a UTI.
So, here I am having been in almost complete quarantine since April, and I caught it.
From where? and they are now telling me to quarantine for 2 weeks.
Big deal, I've been here since April.
They are sending me an O2 meter (I welcome that,)
They are sending me some vitamins and supplements, many of which I take EVERY DAY.
Yesterday, after I asked my niece to bring me some food, (but before she arrived) I had to get up and shower; I was nasty, having been pretty much bedridden for days, then I went and put the few dishes in the washer and ran it.
Just those few things wore me out, but last night, with some food, a bunch of cranberry juice, fresh blueberries and some homemade vegetable quiche, I began to not have so much fever, just limp as a dishrag.
I probably passed 2 liter of urine over night, finally had some BM.
This morning, depending on which method/location, my temp has not been over 99.2°
Tomorrow if all goes as planned, I will try to find a location to get my OWN test done (including the UTI test)
Right now, I am about to eat some Yogurt with Raw Unfiltered Honey, fresh blueberries, dried cranberries, cinnamon and real vanilla.
Thank you all for having patience with this patient.
Please though, do me a favor and keep your "internet medical degree advice" to yourself.
