No matter what we do, no matter how we try,
We cannot keep the
Golden light of life
From fading in those who we have loved.
Those who
Brought us into the world,
Who taught us, Disciplined us, who gave
Us examples of what to do and not to do.
It is an inevitable
Fact of our existence that those we love will leave us.
It doesn’t make it any easier to accept when it happens,
But it is still a fact.
The longer you live, the more of
This you will see; friends, family, lovers and even
“Cherished Antagonists”
(that’s right, we have a few we ‘love to hate’)
Will leave you, either
Suddenly or slowly.
“Life is a terminal Condition; no one gets out alive”.
I Sometimes wonder why we get
So very upset when a loved
One dies, but my heart
Knows the answer.
They have left a
Hole there; it
Won’t be
Filled.

For the most part, all humankind loves and misses their mothers.
This is as it should be, as is the fact that they are gone
(Or will be gone eventually) while we remain. But
They are forever with us in our hearts, and in our Genetics.
Do not grieve overmuch, so as to spoil the lives they
Gave us. Live for today as they would have wanted.
