I don't have much opportunity for urban photography living in the country. The little town closet to me is an old market town, and hard to describe as urban, but given that this is a new and regular contest by now is the time to be keeping an eye out for shots that might work!
This was taken on Tower Bridge in London, featured we have my mum and younger brother looking out over the skyline. There aren't many people who will pose for me, but on the rare trips we take as a family still, these two always indulge me.
I really love the way the sun is streaming onto the iron girders protecting the glass. This is such an old bridge, and the view looking out onto some of the newer sky scrapers, and it was crammed full of people. Looking out it feels like another world out there. I love seeing cities through old windows like this.
We were meeting up with cousins from America, so I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked getting this photo, and didn't manage to get one where i'd lined the skyscrapers up with the diamond of the window but that's something I'll (hopefully) remember next time.
Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out the Urban Photography Contest for yourselves!
