There were few countries conquered our country Philippines. Some of them spent long took over our country. Spain was the one who gave an impact to our country. Imagine that the name of our country was named from the late king of Spain before. But I don't the full details so let's escape with that and just focus on images I can share. I will state some details but it's not that complete because I only learned it from books and conversations.
Before when Filipinos were not being conquered yet. The houses or the traditional house in the Philippines was named "bahay kubo." It's a Tagalog word, by the way, a native language in the Philippines. It was made from a bamboo tree, a piece of wood and a nipa hut or a "cogon grass." I can't show you an image of "bahay kubo" because it's hard to find it in the city. If I will be in the province you can still see many of it there.
Every morning I felt like I wanted to walk and by walking I felt obliged to share what I saw. It's not that someone asked me to do so. It's my own conviction to share some content that you guys might found it interesting. I was just assuming but why not if it's fun taking pictures outside, right?
I realised that not all people know the history and some of them might be curious about it. I decided to take pictures of houses that were made specifically design from the influenced of Spaniards. The architecture of these houses was different from our traditional house in the Philippines"bahay kubo." The materials and their design have so many differences. The wood that was cut to make it clean and good to see from outside. They also made as a wall and a floor of the house. And on another thing of their differences is its roof. Bahay kubo's roof was made from grass or nipa hut while this kind of house roof was made of galvanised iron. I said about their differences so let me share to you some houses and stop talking for a bit.
The houses were very old and they didn't repair it now. Maybe because the woods these days are so expensive compared to other materials. Also, did you know that the woods they used in building this kind of houses will last for long as long as you can maintain it with varnish to avoid the wood will consume by the insects?
Before my post will end, let me show you a small chapel in the street. You know that this was influenced by Spaniards as well. You can find a lot of chapels here in the Philippines but it's quite big that few people can go inside.
