Hello Hivers!
Welcome to my Monochrome Monday!
Well I had sworn off shooting the moon some time ago. I just hate it. Not the moon of course, but the outcome! Usually just ends up being a white dot on a black background. Underwhelming. Frustrating. Not worth the effort.
Buck Moon
Last night we had a "buck moon' as they call it. Usually that means it has a reddish hue to it. Sadly we had some layering of clouds, so detail was not all that.
Here I did nothing to the color, just fresh from the camera and simply cropped.
However there are certain "special" moon nights where Ben will shlep out the tripod and mount the 400mm to the Canon and make a go of it again.
Of course one must endure doing battle with the mosquitoes or the cold. A good tripod is a must. As is using the timer or a remote to click the shutter. Even the slightest of touches jiggle the shot.
Funny how it always seems to remind me of a melon of some sort with the spot where the stem was!
I love to see moonshine on the water, but I can never copy the beauty of it.
