"Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success."
– Henry Ford
Hive is not simply a blockchain - it is a decision, a mindset, and a like-minded community that shares in the growth of such.
THE WHAT, WHY, WHO & WHERE OF IT ALL
These are my five...
WHAT
(What Hive offers you as an individual)
Hive, for me, is a great platform to share what I love to do — traveling.
I am a very introverted person. Thus, Hive helped me a lot to express what I want to people with the same interests.
My goal is to travel one country at a time while I keep sustainability in mind.
This also helped me keep sane during the work from home duties and lockdown period as I was able to reminisce and relive the travel moments I had.
What I love the most about it is that Hive is for everyone. I've seen some oldies but goodies, who are in this platform who also participates in giving their pieces to encourage others, which made me realized that you can never be too old to learn.
WHY
(How Hive is different to other social media and blogging platforms)
Hive is worthwhile our time. Not only we have the luxury to be ourselves, but there are also actual people who support you.
There are a lot of community engagements whereby people actually read your posts and take part in it.
There is less toxicity here compared to other social media platforms.
As an added bonus to that, people are helpful in assisting others to be better in what they do.
Not to mention, Hive bloggers may earn income from this platform just by sharing their content and upvoting other people's content.
WHO
(People & spaces you find Hive support and gain enthusiasm from)
I've started my journey here as I was introduced by a very good friend of mine, .
I was not in a very good place then, since I was caught up with a lot of pressure from work and other life stuff until she encouraged me to try writing here.
I suddenly had the outlet where to put my the bad vibes away.
I was actually previously writing on a different platform. She told me that my content will get more engagement here and it was true enough.
Since then, I've met a number of good-hearted people from @HivePH who supported me.
There's Nanay who is ever patient with me while I was learning my way to Hive,
the superstar who is not only great with what he does but also a generous person when it comes to sharing tricks and tips,
who is a champion behind Hive's technicalities and who shares a passion for writing,
and my other travel enthusiasts mates: and
who share great videos and posts,
and of course who wins our hearts and our goals whenever she posts,
and who takes the initiative for #WhoAreTheyPhilippines that is a weekly project where he randomly selects a person in the area where he lives or works, and gives the claimed author rewards to that person... how interesting and honorable is that?
I am forever grateful to ,
,
,
,
,
, and for the rest of the @HaveYouBeenHere team and community for the support I get for my travel posts.
It always gives me the thrill and desire to do better whenever I receive recognition and mentions from them.
Thanks to community,
,
,
,
,
,
and of course, to
whenever I get surprise visits, upvotes and/or reblogs from you.
Thank you for tagging me in this initiative!
WHERE
The front ends/apps of your choice and why)
Peakd is the most usual portal I use due to its effectiveness to show what my post will look like while I do it and its very user-friendly interface.
HackMD comes next. I recently discovered this application that helps me add my photos without worrying that I will occupy the limit in Peakd.
Discord where I meet people from various communities and partake in discussions.
Pinmapple lets me pin my posts on the map by generating a code.
Canva is a graphic design platform that allows me to design my cover photos in such a neat and consistent way to showcase my posts.
#THRIVEONHIVE
(My final thoughts & conclusion)
To thrive on Hive means to work hard but to have fun as well.
One needs to be patient in order to get what they expect of it, and yes — I still have a long way to go to learn.
But I'm loving it here!
