- Hello hiveans, yesterday was a bit stressful but the same time gainful. For some months now, lockdown as affected us in Nigeria, in such a way businesses has shut down and as such we can't do what we know how do best.
I remember stating in my introductory post that i am an artist and was desperately waiting for a new work to share on hive.
Despite my commitment to write and post on community, I still have some time to do this last week.
LET'S GET STARTED
You first of all prepare the surface you want to write on.
I cut the rafters and plank into equal length and nailed it according to the size i want.
Smooth the woods for easy painting.
At this point, I primed the board with black paint first before painting finally with white paint. With these, the white color will be obtained easily and brightly.
next stage
Here. The printing board is ready.
Time to prepare the stencils.
I cut the chip board paper to fit the writing areas of the wood.
I carefully write the letters I want to print, with pencil in case of mistakes, i can erase it. (You can use freehand or ruler to form the letters depending on how professional you are).
After writing every letters i wanted,
i used my sharp blade (called cutter)and cut out the letters correctly. pls I can't show the cutting process.
But, this is what i have after the cutting process.
NEXT STAGE
At this point, the board and stencils are ready. I move on to printing stage.
I placed the stencils on the board correctly, bring out the needed colors and fold a piece of foam to a round shape for damping.
This is the damping process, I have to do this in all the curved areas with the right color.
finally I am through with the damping process. The stencil is been removed, trying to do some freehand corrections where necessary.
This is one area that i have developed myself personally, I have not undergo any professional training on this before but my passion and love for it has made me go these far. I really appreciate God for that.
Check out for more of these on my blog, thank you
