A few days ago I have written a post where I discussed my thoughts sitting on a public bench. I have got feedback from you guys and also got a lovely comment "Stranger in a Strange City". Well honestly speaking, either still, I feel a stranger or this city is still unknown to me. I prefer both because it's been almost 2 years living in Kharkiv city but I haven't been to many places still now.
Life is not that easy as I expected to be. So many things I had to deal with so some wishes just not happened. Anyway, I am taking the time and slowly exploring a small part of Kharkiv city.
I had some work today, basically some paperwork so I had to visit an office. It is far away from my home so I have to take the metro first. Later, I had to cross Shevchenko park which is also known as the central park as well. So, on my way, I had to cross the Kharkiv State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre [ХНАТОБ] which is a very old theatre in my opinion. History says that it is one of the oldest musical theatres in Ukraine. I have visited it once to attend a program.
The Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre is one of the oldest musical theatres of our country, the successor of the best traditions of the Ukrainian, Russian, and world culture. The history of the musical theatre in Kharkiv traces back to 1780. Further history of this genre in connection with the creation of opera companies, as well as guest performances by foreign private companies, including Italian companies. Operas and ballet divertissements were staged in various theatrical premises, not always suitable for such purposes. December 1874 (January 1875 according to the new style) can be considered a starting point of a relatively stable status, when, due to the efforts of the patron V.Paschenko, the first performance of F.Berger company was staged in the newly-built theatre house. Since 1891 the theatre received a permanent “residence address” in the former Commercial club, where it had been working with a short break for 100 years (currently, these premises are used by the Kharkiv Philharmonic Hall).
Infront of the theatre, there is a huge plaza with columns and fountains. Opposite of the theater, Mirror Stream located and a beautiful Church situated. There is also a sitting arrangement surrounded by a beautiful garden.
Obviously there is a parking area as well. Many people come here every day to capture pictures and to attend musical drama and theatres. The night view of this area is completely different and stunning.
A restaurant and a big coffee shop are located near the theatre and obviously I have mentioned Shevchenko Park. I like this area so much, it is known as city center where many people gather for different activities.
So, I decided to share this nice walk with you which I always enjoy. This is a place where you will see an organized landscape and beauty of Kharkiv city. Not only you will be able to explore history but also you will enjoy the nature of the park as well.
This is it for today, see you soon...
